4-lane Tumagbok Bridge in southern Iloilo to open soon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon fully open to motorists the newly-completed Tumagbok Bridge along Iloilo-Antique Road in Barangay Igtuba, Miagao town, Iloilo.

DPWH Region VI Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr. said the widening and strengthening of Tumagbok Bridge which received an allocation of P200 million is now substantially completed with only remaining paving works on its approaches.

DPWH completes 2 new classrooms in Eastern Samar coastal town

Students of San Mateo Elementary School in Sulat, Eastern Samar will no longer attend classes in a makeshift classroom with the completion two (2) newly-constructed classrooms by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH-Eastern Samar District Engineer Manolo A. Rojas reported that the DPWH in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), has completed the 2-classroom school building with a total budget allotment of P2.7-million.

DPWH prepares for Super Typhoon “Ompong”

All Regional and District Engineering Offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways are now undertaking preparatory activities in an effort to mitigate possible damages of the looming Super Typhoon “Mangkhut” with local name“Ompong”.

As early as Tuesday, September 11, 2018, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar issued a memorandum directing the mobilization of DPWH Regional and District Disaster Response Teams nationwide for preparatory activities to ensure structural integrity of vital roads, bridges, and high rise public buildings.

DPWH-UP signs MOA on construction, renovation of 20 UP school facilities

A total of P2.76-Billion worth of projects will be carried out by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in various campuses and facility of the state-run University of the Philippines (UP).

The implementation of 20 UP projects that cover construction and renovation of school building facilities, dormitories, public restrooms, gymnasium, a water impounding lagoons, road network, and an environmental research and outreach center will be covered under a memorandum of agreement between DPWH and UP.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a P50-million slope protection project along section of Calbayog – Catarman Road in Calbayog City, Province of Samar.

According to a report from DPWH – Regional Office 8, the project that will protect the national highway from landslide covers the 7,800 square meters of embankment built along the 293-meter road section in Barangay Jose Roño of Calbayog – Catarman Road.

DPWH completes repair of 60-year old bridge in Sultan Kudarat

Retrofitting works have been completed to strengthen the decades-old Sampao Bridge in Barangay Sampao, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

In his report, District Engineer Alan D. Arumpac of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sultan Kudarat First District Engineering Office said that the retrofitting of the bridge by modification of existing structures to make them more resistant to seismic activity or ground motion is in line with Department’s program to provide safer access of motorists along the busy Kidapawan-Ala Junction Road.
