DPWH reactivates ‘Lakbay Alalay’ in time The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in anticipation of the heavy flow of traffic this Christmas holidays, has reactivated its ‘Lakbay Alalay’ program.

From December 21, 2018 to January 2, 2019, Motorist Assistance Stations manned by Motorist Assistance teams will be stationed at different locations nationwide to assist road users.

2 flood control structures rehabilitated in Samar

In its effort to strengthen infrastructure for flood risk mitigation, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the rehabilitation of two (2) flood control structures along Gandara River in Samar.

DPWH Samar First District Engineer Alvin A. Ignacio reported to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar that P30-million was allocated for each of the two improvements – the 225-linear meter upstream and 225-linear meter downstream flood control structures in Brgy. Ngoso, Gandara, Samar.

Biliran news agencies set up news network for heightened news delivery

A new way to heighten the information dissemination in Biliran in Region 8 is anticipated as various news agencies represented by their information officers collaborated to form the Biliran Communicators Network (BilComNet).

The network is composed of different government agencies, Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), and non-government organizations (NGOs) committed to uphold BilComNet’s principles of delivering timely, accurate, and relevant news and information.

DPWH-6 District Information Offices cited for good performance

District Information Officers (DIOs) of the five (5) District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region VI were awarded as Best Performing District Information Offices during the Year-end Meeting of the Regional and District Public Information Officers, spearheaded by Regional Public Information Officer, Ms. Vivian C. Tan, December 14, 2018 at the Regional Office.

The Internal Audit Service of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Central Office conducts a management audit at Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO) in conformance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

In 2017, DPWH-Biliran DEO has been certified with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 under David P. Adongay Jr., District Engineer(DE).
The main objective of the audit system is to ensure continuous improvement of the district office in terms of quality management system (QMS) according to ISO 9001 international standard.
