VILLAR: DPWH doubles effort to finish Boracay Project by October despite rains

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said DPWH is working double time to make Boracay Circumferential Road accessible in time for the island’s soft opening this October.

“With only over a month left for Boracay soft opening, DPWH personnel and equipment are making up for the works that have been slowed down by incessant rain” said Secretary Villar.

Kennon Road, 10 other roads still closed due to Ompong

As of 12 noon, Friday, September 21, 2018, a total of 11 road sections in Luzon remain impassable to all types of vehicles due to landslide, collapsed road, damaged bridge, and flooding.

The Department of Public Works and Highways Bureau of Maintenance identified nine (9) closed roads in Cordillera Administrative Region and two (2) in Central Luzon namely:

BENGUET
1) Kennon Road

2) Baguio –Bontoc Road
a. K0362+680-K0362+780, Busa Section
b. K0371+400, Tiging Section, Sabangan

18 farm-to-market roads completed in central Iloilo

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in convergence with the Department of Agriculture (DA), has improved a total of 18 farm-to-market roads (FMRs) in the third and fourth legislative district of Iloilo province.

In a report, DPWH Iloilo Second District Engineer Sanny Boy O. Oropel said through the DPWH-DA convergence program, 18 local roads costing P 118.4 million were paved in the central part of Iloilo, specifically in the municipalities of Calinog, Pototan, Janiuay, Dueñas, Bingawan, Mina, Cabatuan, Maasin, Anilao, San Enrique, Banate, and Dumangas.

DPWH still clearing 30 impassable roads, mostly in CAR

A total of 30 road sections in Region I, III, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) remain closed to traffic due to rock debris, landslides, fallen trees, mudflow, washed-out road, road cut, damaged slope protection and electric post, eroded bridge approach, and flooding after being hit by Typhoon Ompong over the weekend.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM) reported that as of Wednesday, September 19, 2018, twenty-four (24) roads in CAR are impassable which include:

DPWH Sec. Mark Villar inspects Slaughter House-F. Torres Bridge Bypass Road Project

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar together with Regional Director Allan S. Borromeo and OIC Assistant Regional Director Joselito B. Caballero, inspect Package III of the ongoing P395-Million Slaughter House to F. Torres Bridge Bypass Road Project. The project which starts from CP Garcia Highway and ends along Bacaca Circumferential Road (near Brokenshire Hospital) now has an average accomplishment of 71.66%.

DPWH builds multi-purpose building for high school students in Negros Occidental

The Department of the Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a multi-purpose building that will benefit hundreds of junior and senior high school students at the Cauayan National High School in Poblacion, Cauayan, Province of Negros Occidental.

The P2-million project was implemented by DPWH-Negros Occidental 3rd District, funded under the FY 2018 Outside Infrastructure Program to provide students an additional venue for recreation and learning.

DPWH helds consultation meeting for ROW

Torino, RPIO explained the Department Order No. 73 - Prohibited uses within the Right-of-Way of National Roads. The dialogue is witnessed by Koronadal City Councilor and anchor of Brigada New FM Koronadal City and SP LGU-Staff.
