DPWH completes repair of 60-year old bridge in Sultan Kudarat

Retrofitting works have been completed to strengthen the decades-old Sampao Bridge in Barangay Sampao, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

In his report, District Engineer Alan D. Arumpac of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sultan Kudarat First District Engineering Office said that the retrofitting of the bridge by modification of existing structures to make them more resistant to seismic activity or ground motion is in line with Department’s program to provide safer access of motorists along the busy Kidapawan-Ala Junction Road.

Barangay Police Officer locally called Tanods in Barangay Barayong, Abuyog, Leyte are lending their hands to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to deter plying of overloaded vehicles on highways.

In a report, DPWH Region 8 Director Nerie D. Bueno said that “Tanods” have helped engineers from DPWH Planning and Design Section in the conduct of a recent 8-day 24/7 Anti Truck Overloading Mobile Enforcement (ATOME) operation of large trucks plying the national road in Barangay Barayong.

DPWH widens 10 major bridges in Southern Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is presently implementing the widening of 10 vital bridges in Southern Leyte that serve as significant link of travelers coming from Luzon to Mindanao.

According to a report from DPWH Regional Office 8, a total amount of P252.6-million was allocated for bridge widening projects in Libagon and Sogod towns which are being fast-tracked to complement the ongoing road expansion along Southern Leyte’s major highways.

Assistant Secretary Maximo L. Carvajal inspects regional implemented projects in Cagayan de Oro City on August 25, 2018 together with Assistant Regional Director Efren A. Berba, Construction Chief Engineer Virgie G. Nayve, Project Engineer Leowald L. Pecore and other DPWH officials.

Asec. Carvajal inspected the problematic areas of the ongoing Agora Drainage, Bonbon-Macabalan Bridge, Balulang-Macasandig Bridge projects and also checked the progress of work in the CDO Convention Center in Indahag.

DPWH to resume repair on EDSA, C5 this weekend

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will resume weekend rehabilitation activities along sections of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road 5 (C-5 Road), Batasan Road and A.H. Lacson Avenue.

DPWH-NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro said that the road repairs will be carried out from 11 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 covering the southbound directions of EDSA, from in front of Francesca Tower to after Scout Borromeo, 3rd lane from the center island; and the northbound direction from before North Avenue, 6th lane from the center island.

DPWH opens new Pasac-Culcul bridges in Pampanga

The new Pasac-Culcul Bridge 1 and 2 along Sto. Tomas-Minalin Road in Minalin, Pampanga are now officially open to vehicular traffic. The new Pasac-Culcul Bridges 1 and 2 are replacement projects of two (2) bailey bridges in Pampanga that lie along the 15-kilometer diversion road and bypasses the busy roads of Sto. Tomas and City of San Fernado, Pampanga. These new 2-lane bridges were constructed under the DPWH Bridge Construction Replacement Program (BCRP) I Contract Package 2 implemented by DPWH UPMO-Bridge Management Cluster.
