DPWH, JICA Expedite Completion of Updated Flood Control Master Plans for Pasig-Marikina and Cagayan River Basins

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is intensifying its collaborative efforts to finalize the updated flood control master plans for the Pasig-Marikina and Cagayan River Basins—two (2) major waterways in Luzon that play a crucial role in supporting the economic growth and development of Metro Manila and the Cagayan Valley Region.

Biggest Sports Complex in Panay Island Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) begins construction works of Panay Island’s largest sports complex at Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) in the municipality of Sara, Iloilo province.

According to DPWH Region VI Director Sanny Boy Oropel, construction is now ongoing on a 1,400-square meter multi-purpose building component of the facility.

Built within a 3,064-square meter lot area, the facility will serve as a hub for athletic training and competitions and aims to elevate sports and athletics in Western Visayas.
