DPWH Goes Livestream Of Bidding, On Line Procurement

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that the public will be able to witness bidding activities via online streaming of DPWH procurement processes.

Secretary Villar ordered to broadcast DPWH procurement process on livestream via social media platform or thru official website in order to avoid irregularities, whenever the relevant committee is required to convene or meet.

DPWH Ramps Up Construction of 2 Road Projects in Zamboanga City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has ramped up implementation of two (2) road construction projects in Zamboanga City.

Secretary Mark A. Villar identified the two (2) priority projects of DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office (DEO) as the P30.45-million road widening along Governor Camins Road and P34.32-million road reconstruction of the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon (NSRE) Road Network.

New Road to Quirino’s Pensal Falls Nears Completion

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the multi-year road construction to Pensal Falls in Aglipay, Quirino has already reached 91.87 percent accomplishment.

Citing a report by Region 2 Director Malaluan, Secretary Villar said that the construction of the access road is part of the Tourism Road Infrastructure Project (TRIP) implemented by DPWH in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to open prime ecotourism destinations.

DPWH Completes 3 New Pasay City Quarantine Facilities; 1 More Underway

Three (3) isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients were recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Pasay City.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar and Isolation Czar said that three (3) facilities are: the WMall Quarantine Facility with 160 bed capacity; the Folk Arts Theater with 20-unit rooms; and the Pasay City Sports Complex Quarantine Facility with 62 cubicles, one (1) nurse station, one (1) working area and an x-ray room.

Slope Protection Works On-Going Along Landslide-Prone Road in Ilocos Sur

Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that a new stabilization structure is underway to prevent landslides and road closure along Tagudin-Cervantes Road in the Municipality of Suyo, Ilocos Sur.

“During rainy season, landslides often lead to road lane closure in Sitio Quinilaoen, causing inconvenience to motorists traversing the Tagudin-Cervantes Road that’s why we prioritized the installation of slope protection along this section,” said Secretary Villar.

DPWH: Catanduanes Circumferential Road Now Passable

The entire stretch of Catanduanes Circumferential Road – Catanduanes Province’s backbone highway - is now passable to the motoring public.

This was disclosed by Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, citing the re-opening of the vital road yesterday, although clearing operations are still being undertaken along sections severely affected by landslides that are only one (1) lane passable.
