Flood Control Structure In Calbayog City Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed an 8-meter high flood control structure on each side of Cagpalale Creek in Calbayog City, Samar.

The flood control structures have a total length of 338 linear meters, lining the Abutment A and B of an adjacent bridge.

Cagpalale Creek branches out from Jibatang River, the largest river system in Calbayog City. During high tide and heavy rainfall, the plainlands near the creek becomes easily flooded, which often results in property damage and human casualties.

Phase 2 Of Pamplona Bypass Road In Cagayan Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has already completed the 3.8-kilometer road segments of the ongoing bypass road project in the town of Pamplona, Cagayan Province.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that DPWH Cagayan Second District Engineering Office recently finished Phase 2 of the 2-lane Pamplona Bypass Road in Barangays Capalalian, Gattu, and Centro, which adds 2 kilometers from the already completed 1.8-kilometer Phase 1 in Barangay Capalalian.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that DPWH Cagayan Second District Engineering Office recently finished Phase 2 of the 2-lane Pamplona Bypass Road in Barangays Capalalian, Gattu, and Centro, which adds 2 kilometers from the already completed 1.8-kilometer Phase 1 in Barangay Capalalian.

Locals benefit from widened Lucban-Majayajay Road in Quezon Province

The Department of Public Works and Highways is about to fully complete its multi-year road widening project along Lucban-Majayjay Road in the municipality of Lucban, Quezon Province.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said the road improvement project which was implemented since 2016 is now on its fiftth and final segment with only remaining works at a 260-meter section in Barangay Ayuti.

“At present, motorists are reaping the benefits of a widened 3.32-kilometer portion of Lucban-Majayjay Road in Barangays Igang, Samil, and Ayuti,” said Secretary Villar.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, based on a report from DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, said that the ongoing road project which has so far received an allocation of P490 million since 2018 is primarily aimed to improve existing narrow road into a 2-lane concrete road in Barangays Poblacion, Puguil, and Tubaday.

DPWH awards contract for Davao City Bypass Construction Project to Japanese Consortium

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has awarded the civil works contract for the initial implementation of the Davao City Bypass Construction Project.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the joint venture group of Shimizu - Ulticon - Takenaka will undertake the construction of contract package 1-1 covering 10.7 kilometers of four (4) lane highway inclusive of 2.3 kilometer tunnel in the amount of P13.230 Billion within 37 months or 1,110 calendar days.
