DPWH-NCR June 5-8 Repair Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of June 5, Friday to 5 AM of June 8, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon, Pasig and Caloocan:

Quezon City

  1. Along Payatas Road from Visayas St. to Zamora St. (1st lane, North bound).

Road Improvement Project Leading to Gumasa White Sand Beaches of Sarangani Completed

The road leading to the white sand beaches of Gumasa in the municipality of Glan in Sarangani Province is now safer and wider.

In less than a year, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the road concreting and widening of two (2) routes along Sarangani – Davao del Sur Coastal Road leading to Gumasa Beach. The project was implemented under the Department of Tourism-DPWH Convergence Program on Enhancing Tourism Access in Soccsksargen Region.

“We should not limit ourselves to infrastructure concerns, let us also find ways to help the school populace,” said DPWH Region V Director Melvin B. Navarro.

Director Navarro, in his meeting with DPWH Region 5 officials directed the transfer without cost to public schools during the nationwide conduct of “Brigada Eskwela 2015”, computers that were earlier returned to Supply and Property Management Section of the regional office afte completing inventory and identifying those which are operational.

  2. Along Mindanao Avenue from Road 1 to Catleya St. (3rd lane, North bound).

DPWH Addresses Classroom Shortage in Baclaran Elementary School

To address the growing population of students and classroom shortages, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in coordination with the Department of Education and the local government unit of Parañaque City, pushed forth the construction of additional classrooms in Baclaran Elementary School – Central.

In parallel with the opening of school classes this June, a three-storey school building amounting to ₱ 6,531,789.71 is already underway and once completed, can accommodate an estimated number of 120-150 students.

Metro Pacific Offers P27.3 Billion Bid Premium for CALAX Project

MPCALA Holdings Inc. of infrastructure conglomerate Metro Pacific Investments Corporation offered the highest bid premium of P27.3 Billion for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Project, beating by P5.1 Billion the P22.2 Billion offer of San Miguel Holdings Corporation.

DPWH Private Partnership Project Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) Chairman Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut described the premium offer of MPCALA Holdings as best deal for the government considering that the minimum bid for CALAX was at P20.1 Billion.

Bidders' Financial Offer for CALAX Project Opened

DPWH Special Bids and Awards (SBAC) Committee for PPP Project Chairman Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut and Undersecretary Cosette V. Canilao of PPP Center reveal on-screen the financial offer of MPCALA Holdings and San Miguel Holdings Corp. for the 45 kilometer-Cavite Laguna (CALA) Expressway Project. MPCALA Holdings submitted P27.3 Billion premium bid while San Miguel Holdings Corp. submitted P22.2 Billion.
