"Egay" Update: 4 Roads Closed as of Wednesday 12 NN

As of 12 noon, July 8, 2015, Wednesday, four (4) major road sections in Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region are now impassable due to Tropical Storm “Egay” according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bureau of Maintenance.

Report shows continuous raining in Benguet Province has aggregated landslide with mudflow/boulders in three (3) sections, which include the Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan-Buguias-Abatan Road, K0341+320, Bongis Section and K0335+500-K0335+600, Gusaran Section and the landslide at K0262+000-K0262+050 Section of Shilan-Beckel Road.

"Egay Update: 2 Roads Still Impassable as of 12 NN

Two (2) road sections in Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are still closed to traffic due landslide and flooding brought by tropical storm “Egay”.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Bureau of Maintenance, as of 12:00 noon of July 7, 2015, Tuesday, the Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan Road, K0341+320, Bongis Section in Benguet and the Bangar-Luna Road, KM305+000 to KM306+000 Section in the province of La Union remain impassable due to landslide and flooding respectively.

Eight (8) road sections in Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are still closed to traffic due landslide and flooding brought by tropical storm “Egay”.

In the latest report of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Bureau of Maintenance, as of 6:00 a.m. of July 6, 2015, Monday, roads that are impassable include:

1. Kennon Road, K0242+620, Camp 7, Baguio City;

2. Baguio-Bauang Road, K0299+(-150), Irisan, Baguio City;

3. Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan Road, KO315-KO316 , Barangay Bugao, Bokod, Benguet;

DPWH-NCR July 3-6 Road Repair Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of July 3, Friday to 5 AM of July 6, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon and Pasig:

Quezon City

  1. Along Payatas Road from Bicol St. to Visayas St. (2nd lane, North bound); and
  2. Along Commonwealth Avenue from Commonwealth Market Extension Overpass to Bicol-Leyte Overpass (2nd lane from median island, South bound).

DPWH-NCR July 3-6 Road Repair Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of July 3, Friday to 5 AM of July 6, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon and Pasig:

 
Quezon City

  1. Along Payatas Road from Bicol St. to Visayas St. (2nd lane, North bound); and
  2. Along Commonwealth Avenue from Commonwealth Market Extension Overpass to Bicol-Leyte Overpass (2nd lane from median island, South bound).

DPWH Constructs Access Road to Palawan's Famous Estrella Falls

Faster and safer travel to Palawan’s Estrella Falls is currently being experienced by visitors and locals, with the recent completion of a road improvement project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The once muddy and bumpy 2.2 kilometer portion of road leading to one of the cleanest falls in the country – the Estrella Falls in Narra, Palawan, has now been concreted.

DPWH to Hire 1,396 Young Civil Engineers

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will employ 1,396 civil engineers to augment its workforce in the Regional and District Offices nationwide.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has authorized the DPWH to hire additional civil engineers to augment technical capabilities to implement much bigger infra budget.

PNoy Unveils Project Markers; Inspects Major Projects in Iloilo City and Iloilo Province

President Benigno S. Aquino, III led the unveiling of markers of the two major national highways in the City of Iloilo – the Pres. Corazon C. Aquino Avenue and the Sen. Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. Avenue, last June 11, 2015.

Along with Pres. Aquino were Senate President Franklin M. Drilon, DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson and DILG Secretary Manuel A. Roxas, II.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of June 26, Friday to 5 AM of June 29, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon and Pasig:

Quezon City

  1. Along Payatas Road from Farmers St. to Visayas St. (2nd lane, North bound); and
  2. Along EDSA from Aurora Blvd. to K-10 St. (2nd lane from sidewalk, North bound).
