DPWH Upgrades Vallehermoso-Canlaon City-La Castellana Road

The Department of Public Works and Highways in Region VI has completed the upgrading of Vallehermoso-Canlaon City-La Castellana Road, under the jurisdiction of Negros Occidental Second District Engineering Office.

A total of P554.261 Million funded by the Regional Office and Negros Occidental Second District Engineering Office, has been poured out in upgrading the whole road network, which involved the rehabilitation and upgrading of damaged pavement.

DPWH Provides School Supplies to Students in Quezon

In line with the school opening in June, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Quezon IV District Engineering Office distributed school supplies to students of Villa Hermosa Elementary School in Lopez, Quezon on May 21.

The school supplies distributed to 100 students from Grades 1-3 consisted of a backpack, notebooks, pencils, eraser, ruler and scissor. These were personally given to the students who also came with their parents or guardians.

Lead by OIC-District Engineer Rody A. Angulo, the activity was part of DPWH’s outreach program to help the community.

DPHW, Negros Occidental 2nd DEO Accomplishment as of May 2015

The Department of Public Works and Highways, Negros Occidental Second District Engineering Office, under the stewardship of OIC-District Engineer Randolfo A. Melosantos, is one of the top performers in the Region in terms of project implementation.

The District maintains a total road network of 142,658 kilometers and 1.783 lineal meters of bridges.

As of May 2015, the District has implemented a total of 66 projects with the total amount of P327.874 Million under its FY 2015 Infrastructure Program.

DPWH Begins Lopez Bypass Road Construction in Quezon

The Department of Public Works and Highways has begun the construction of the Lopez Bypass Road Project in Lopez, Quezon, which is expected to help ease traffic and spur economic growth in the area.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held May 23 and the project is expected to be completed within 480 days. The road construction which covers 8,657 meters is anticipated to improve the living standards of the population near the area and at the same time, fast-track the delivery of government and private-led services due to improved access and reduced travel time.

DPWH Now ISO 9001:2008 Certified

The Quality Management System (QMS) of the Department of Public Works and Highways is now certified against the requirements of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards.

The DPWH ISO 9001:2008 Certification, received from Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars, Inc., is aligned with President Aquino’s call on government agencies to improve public service delivery and in ensuring good governance and sustaining the “tuwid na daan” reform efforts.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of May 22, Friday to 5 AM of May 25, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon, Pasig and Caloocan:

Quezon City

-Along Mindanao Avenue from Road I to Catleya St. (3rd lane, North bound)

Pasig City

-Along C-5 Road from Shell Gasoline Station to SM Warehouse going to Lanuza St. (2nd outermost lane, North bound)

Caloocan City

DPWH-NCR May 22-25 Road Repair Schedule

P932.56-Million Allocated for Road Widening Project Leading to Boracay Island

A total of P932.56 Million worth of infrastructure projects are being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways, Region 6 to improve the road network leading Boracay Island in the province of Aklan.

This is to address road traffic demand for the increasing number of tourist, foreign and local, flocking to Boracay Island.

Of the total amount, P531.72 Million is allocated for the improvement and widening of Aklan West Road with the total length of 57 kilometers.
