DPWH Addresses Classroom Shortage in Baclaran Elementary School

Thursday, May 28, 2015

To address the growing population of students and classroom shortages, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in coordination with the Department of Education and the local government unit of Parañaque City, pushed forth the construction of additional classrooms in Baclaran Elementary School – Central.

In parallel with the opening of school classes this June, a three-storey school building amounting to ₱ 6,531,789.71 is already underway and once completed, can accommodate an estimated number of 120-150 students.

The project is essential and timely as the Department anticipated a significant influx of students in public schools brought by the perennial increase in private schools’ tuition fees.
