DPWH Sec. Mark Villar inspects Slaughter House-F. Torres Bridge Bypass Road Project

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar together with Regional Director Allan S. Borromeo and OIC Assistant Regional Director Joselito B. Caballero, inspect Package III of the ongoing P395-Million Slaughter House to F. Torres Bridge Bypass Road Project. The project which starts from CP Garcia Highway and ends along Bacaca Circumferential Road (near Brokenshire Hospital) now has an average accomplishment of 71.66%.

DPWH builds multi-purpose building for high school students in Negros Occidental

The Department of the Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a multi-purpose building that will benefit hundreds of junior and senior high school students at the Cauayan National High School in Poblacion, Cauayan, Province of Negros Occidental.

The P2-million project was implemented by DPWH-Negros Occidental 3rd District, funded under the FY 2018 Outside Infrastructure Program to provide students an additional venue for recreation and learning.

DPWH helds consultation meeting for ROW

DPWH 13 prepares for Super Typhoon “Ompong”

The Department of Works and Highways Region XIII prepare needed activities and equipment to reduce possible damages that may occur, in anticipation for the looming super typhoon “Mangkhut” with the local name “Ompong”. This preparation by the DPWH Regional and Risk Disaster Response Team led by Regional Director Pol M. Delos Santos and Assistant Regional Director Nomer Abel P.

DPWH region 13 inspects DPWH-Equipment Management Division Training and Assessment Center Building

DPWH Region XIII Regional Director Pol M. Delos Santos and Assistant Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas inspect the Department of Works and Highways Equipment Management Division (DPWH-EMD) Training and Assessment Center building, accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the training center is located at Tiniwisan, Butuan City.

DPWH Region 3 braces for Super Typhoon “Ompong”

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region III Director Roseller A. Tolentino mobilized the DPWH maintenance team in Central Luzon, following Secretary Villar’s directive to conduct preparatory disaster activities for the impending Super Typhoon “Ompong.”

Director Tolentino ordered Regional Maintenance Engineer Irma Talens and his other 14 district engineering offices to deploy the region’s Disaster Response Team to mitigate possible damages on various structures brought by the typhoon.

DPWH completes new evacuation center in Ilocos Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a fifth permanent evacuation center in a network of evacuation center projects in Ilocos Region.

According to DPWH-Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, the P360-million Regional Evacuation Center Project at Barangay Ayusan Sur, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur was built in the 3,171.39-square meters lot donated by the local government unit.

In a country visited yearly by typhoons and other types of calamities, the evacuation center will accommodate displaced families in disaster-risk areas.

DPWH clears Batanes road from landslide due to ‘Habagat’; braces for Super Typhoon “Mangkhut”

The motoring public is advised that as of 9:00 am Wednesday, September 12, 2018, the K0023+300 section of Basco-Mahatao-Ivana-Uyugan-Imnajbu Road is temporary closed to traffic due to landslide.

The Department of Public Works and Highways Batanes District Engineering Office (DEO) has deployed 11 maintenance personnel with pay loader, dump truck, and backhoe equipment to clear affected road section.

With clearing activities on-going, motorists may take Uyugan-Mahatao Interior Road as an alternative route.

DPWH reactivates motorist assistance centers for Peñafrancia festivities

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will reactivate a total of 11 Motorist Assistance Centers (MACs) in Bicol Region in anticipation of the influx of devotees for the feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Naga City, Camarines Sur.

DPWH Region V Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said DPWH District Engineering Offices (DEOs) in mainland provinces: Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon will deploy MACs along conspicuous spaces of national road to render 24/7 assistance to the Peñafrancia pilgrims from September 13 to 17, 2018.
