In a country visited yearly by typhoons and other types of calamities, the evacuation center will accommodate displaced families in disaster-risk areas.

The two-storey evacuation center is complete with dining room, kitchen, communication room, breastfeeding room, and storage, as well as separate male and female single-storey toilet and bathroom, three-storey laundry/drying area and water tank building, a Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Center (RDRRMC) and Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Building, and rooms for the generator, pump, garbage disposal, and other facilities and equipment.

DPWH has also constructed drainage system, installed street lighting, and power load center that are needed in the evacuation site.

Director Tan said that the evacuation center built on higher elevation in spacious ground with vegetation can help the displaced families cope with calamities.
