New DPWH Region 4A Office breaks ground in Laguna

The Regional Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Southern Tagalog Region (Region 4A) will soon be operating at Barangay Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna. The transfer of office from Quezon City to Calamba City, Laguna will allow DPWH Region 4A to promptly attend to the infrastructure needs of their coverage areas and at the same time help decongest traffic in Metro Manila.

More Southern Leyte roads to be asphalted

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will embark on a P375 million asphalt overlay project for major thoroughfares of Southern Leyte.

DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineer Ma. Margarita C. Junia said the road improvement project through asphalt overlay will cover four (4) areas with damaged pavements, particularly those that have started peeling off or scaling and forming potholes, posing danger to motorists.

River control project for La Union nears completion

Residents of low lying barangays in the towns of Luna and Bangar, La Union will no longer have to bear with flooding, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) aims to complete this October its P26-million Borobor River Control Project.

DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said the improvement project which started in March 2017 is being implemented by DPWH La Union First District Engineering Office.

DPWH gives P2M cash donation for Marawi Heroes’ Dependents

A total of P2.75 million cash donation from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was handed over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to aid dependents of Marawi siege heroes.

DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut handed over the donation to DSWD Assistant Secretary Jose Antonio Hernandez in a ceremonial turn over held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the DPWH Head Office in Port Area, Manila.

Operation Zero Pothole

The increasing number of road users maybe one of the many factors of a stressful traffic in the country, but a road condition is as much a big con-tributor unto the situation.

The Department of Public Works and Highways based on the directive of Secretary Mark Villar conducted oper-ation ZERO POTHOLE.

With no potholes on the road, this will avoid vehicles from slowing down, as well as to avoid untoward vehicular ac-cidents.
