Villar Inspects Iloilo Infra Projects

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar assessed major infrastructure projects in Iloilo City during his recent visit in Panay Island.

Secretary Villar inspected the Iloilo Esplanade 1 Extension and Nabitasan-San Rafael By-Pass Road which are both under the implementation of DPWH Regional Office 6.

The DPWH Chief was joined by Undersecretary Karen Olivia V. Jimeno, DPWH Region 6 Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto, and Construction Division Chief Ormel G. Santos during the project visit.

REAP holds 2017 National Convention on July 19-21

The Road Engineering Association of the Philippines (REAP) opens today, July 19, 2017, its three-day National Convention with a theme: “Innovative Technologies for Safer Roads” in Pasay City.

REAP National President and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Romeo S. Momo said this year’s convention which will have DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar as the keynote speaker is expected to gather around 1500 members and guests from the public and private sector.

Construction of Antique Regional Evacuation Center Kicks-Off

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI has started the construction of a Regional Evacuation Center in San Jose, Antique.

Providing evacuation centers is in line with the government program for improving the resiliency and preparedness of the country in terms of disaster response.

Costing P36.0 Million under the FY 2016 Regular Infra Fund, the project kicked-off with the ground breaking ceremony spearheaded by the Municipality of San Jose de Buenavista.

La Union’s Flores Street closed for drainage project; MNR Cauringan Section in Sison, Pangasinan reopens

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) La Union First District Engineering Office advises the motoring public on the closure of Flores Street from Ice Cream house to DepEd Regional Office in San Fernando, La Union due to an on-going drainage improvement project.

Once the construction at Flores Street is completed, DPWH will also close Aguila Road in Sevilla Norte from intersection of Manila North Road to Land Transportation Office (LTO) Regional Office I.

DPWH-DOE Set Guidelines for Relocation of Electric Facilities Affected by Govt Projects

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Energy (DOE) signed a joint circular on Monday, July 10, 2017 providing the uniform guidelines for the payment and relocation of Electric Cooperative (EC) facilities affected by government projects.

The joint circular, signed by DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar represented by Undersecretary Karen Olivia V. Jimeno and DOE Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi, will have a positive development that will have impact in the program to accelerate infrastructure development under the President Rodrigo R. Duterte administration.
