Zamboanga del Norte farmers benefit from new Farm-to-Market Road

Movement of products and services in Zamboanga del Norte has now improved with the newly completed farm to market road project at Barangay Canupong, Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte.

The P6M newly paved 380 meters project, 600 more or less residents are directly benefitted. Moreover, the 3,000 plus residents of the neighboring barangays of Panganuran, Bayanihan and Tipan are now utilizing the newly completed road.

Zamboanga Sibugay Completes FMR Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways 9 recently completed a 4.9M farm-to market road concreting project in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The 534 ln.m road project hastens the transport of goods from its area of production in Barangay Tiayon to the market. FMRs prove symbiotic in that the locals are also provided easy access in procuring the most basic needs for their families.

The remaining seven (7) on-going projects amounting to 37.4M are also implemented by the Zamboanga Sibugay District Engineering office.

DPWH IX paves road project to assist farmers

The Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office is completing 2 projects with total funding amount of P50M to boost rubber and coconut production in the Province of Zamboanga del Norte.

The upgrading of the existing gravel road into concrete road with project specifications similar to national road carriageway of 6.70 meters wide and 280 cm pavement thickness when completed will directly benefit 2,187 residents of barangays San Roque, San Isidro and Overview situated in the Municipality of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

Quezon City Government Receives Health Workers’ Dorms from DPWH

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officially turnover to the Quezon City government four (4) cluster dormitories with 64 rooms intended for 128 hospital workers.

The “fully furnished” dormitories constructed at Quezon City Memorial Circle were received by Quezon City Administrator Michael Victor Alimurung from DPWH Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, head of DPWH Task Force for Augmentation of Health Facilities formed by Secretary Mark A. Villar.

DPWH 7 1st DEO building, underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways Region 7 is constructing the 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) building in Dao, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The P24.2 million two-storey building includes facilities such as training room and conference room.

A motor pool building, wash bay, and covered parking area for the employee’s service vehicle will also be constructed.

“The project is deemed necessary for completion of facilities needed to efficiently undertake work,” said DPWH Bohol 1st District Engineer Francis Antonio L. Flores.

Improved road eases travel along Teacher’s Village in Tagbilaran City, Bohol

Residents of Tagbilaran City can now enjoy faster and safer travel as The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of an access road along Teacher’s Village in San Isidro.

It is one of the public access roads from the Tagbilaran-Corella-Sikatuna-Loboc Road going to Teacher’s Village and the shortest alternate route from Libertad, Baclayon to the City of Tagbilaran.

DPWH psychosocial support initiative aids employees amid COVID-19

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) commits to caring for its employees’ mental health and psychological well-being through its “We COPE As One” psychosocial support initiative amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Secretary Mark A. Villar assured that employees from DPWH Central Office, Regional Offices, and District Engineering Offices shall be offered support mechanism through the Department’s supervisors – from section chiefs and above.

Villar conducts final inspection of TPLEX final section up to Rosario, La Union

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar on Friday, July 3, 2020 led the final inspection before the opening of the four-lane Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) Pozorrubio, Pangasinan to Rosario, La Union section.

Secretary Villar, together with other DPWH officials and concessionare Private Infra Development Corporation (PDIC) drove the entire 88.85-kilometer stretch of the expressway from Tarlac City to check readiness for opening of the final section.

DPWH assists Cebu City Government vs COVID-19

A total of 200 wooden beds fabricated by workers of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are now being used by COVID-19 patients in Cebu City.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the wooden beds were fabricated by DPWH Cebu City District Engineering Office following a meeting by District Engineer Florida Nuñez with the officials of Cebu City local government who expressed their need for beds in quarantine facilities.
