DPWH completes Phase 1 of Marikina City bypass road project

The first phase of the 1.6-kilometers bypass road project that will cut travel time between Marcos Highway and JP Rizal Street in Marikina City has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH National Capital Region Director Ador G. Canlas announced the completion of Marcos Highway-JP Rizal Bypass Road Project Phase 1 covering the construction of a 2-lane, 470.15-linear road by the side of Marikina River and SM Marikina.

President Duterte inaugurates Candon City Bypass Road in Ilocos Sur

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inaugurated Thursday, July 25, 2019 the four (4)-lane bypass road to decongest traffic along the section of the Manila North Road that traverses Candon City and benefit around 13,000 motorists per day.

In his speech, President Duterte said he is pleased to join the Ilocanos for the inauguration of 7.319 kilometers Candon City Bypass Road Project which is part of his administration’s comprehensive Build, Build, Build infrastructure development program.

DPWH earns recognition for gender responsive programs

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) headed by Secretary Mark A. Villar is recognized as the awardee of GADtimpala 2018 Bronze Award, the highest award given this year, by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for its indisputable efforts in developing gender responsive infrastructure projects that contribute in ensuring gender quality and protection of all stakeholders particularly women workers.

VILLAR: Skyway Stage 3 Plaza Dilao Ramp opens today

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced the partial opening of the Plaza Dilao Ramp of Skyway Stage 3.

"To ease traffic congestion in Buendia, we are opening two lanes, one of the northbound and southbound section. The 3.7 km elevated highways expand from Buendia to Plaza Dilao," Villar noted.

"A maximum speed of 40 kph will be maintained along the main viaduct. Moreover, 20 kph at the ramps will be implemented," he added.
