DPWH provides Access Road to Aklan’s Baybay Beach, Alibagon Bakhawan Park

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P9.8-million access road project leading to Baybay Beach and Alibagon Bakhawan Park in Makato, Aklan.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the construction of a newly-paved 550-meter road with the provision of 109.5-meter slope protection and 639-meter metal guardrail was implemented by DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office (DEO).

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar and isolation czar announced the opening of the biggest mega quarantine facility in Metro Manila at Bagong Nayong Pilipino, Parañaque City.

Secretary Villar said the Solaire-PAGCOR Mega Quarantine Center funded by the Razon Group was inaugurated Tuesday, September 29, 2020 along with a newly-constructed access road completed by the DPWH.

Newly-built Drainage Systems protect communities in Calape, Bohol

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of flood control structures that will protect residents of barangays Liboron and Tultugan in Bohol’s Calape town in time for the rainy season.

DPWH Bohol 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the construction of Barangay Liboron’s P9.62-million drainage system with a total length of 640 linear meters, as well as the P9.50-million drainage system in Barangay Tultugan that spans 500 linear meters.

A 2-storey building was recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to serve as a training barracks of Naval Intelligence and Security Group, Naval Forces Western Mindanao in Lower Calarian, Zamboanga City.

In her report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Regional Office 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia said that the building project costing P3 million has an 86.7-square meter area with four (4) rooms as quarters and transient rooms for officers, enlisted personnel.

New Farm-to-Market Road benefits local farmers in Surigao Del Sur

A farm-to-market road (FMR) recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is an answered dream to farmers in Cantilan, Surigao Del Sur.

The 2.27 kilometer FMR traversing vast rice fields along Barangays Tigabong and Magasang now provides easier transport of goods at a lesser cost.

“The government is investing heavily in infrastructure to achieve high economic growth. This includes the improvement of farm-to-market roads in the rural areas to support agriculture”, said DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar.

DPWH builds new structures along Aklan River

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed a revetment wall structure along Aklan River ahead of schedule with one (1) more underway and set for completion by November 2020.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that completed three (3) months ahead of schedule in Barangay Napnot, Madalag town by the DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office (DEO) is the P46.65-million revetment wall.

The constructed reverment wall at the Aklan River measures 310 linear meters in length to prevent erosion, added Secretary Villar.
