DPWH undertakes road improvement in Dinalupihan, Bataan

Better access to emerging tourism destinations awaits travellers to Dinalupihan, Bataan with the ongoing construction of the Sta. Isabel - San Ramon Diversion Road by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Citing a report from DPWH Bataan First District Engineer Erlindo R. Flores, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the 1.79-kilometer access road is expected to be completed by December of this year to minimize congestion along the Jose Abad Santos Avenue.

With the instruction of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar, a coordination meeting was held recently to push through with the implementation of a 3.98-kilometer bridge project that will connect the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) to Davao City.

“DPWH officials are in talks with the stakeholders to guarantee that we are addressing environmental concerns and doubts of the project before we begin design and construction activities targeted by January 2021,” said Secretary Villar.

Newly-built evacuation center benefits Surallah, South Cotabaro residents

The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 12 (DPWH RO 12) has recently completed the construction of an evacuation center that aims to benefit the residents of Surallah, South Cotabato.

Regional Director Basir M. Ibrahim of DPWH RO 12 said that new Surallah Evacuation Center has been retrofitted to ensure disaster resilience, energy efficiency, and structural strength and integrity that could withstand the highest probable level of seismic activity in the area and any typhoon.

Labey-Lacamen Road Project in Tublay, Benguet continues

An additional 5.3-kilometer slope protection and 1.1-kilometer road concreting project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along Labey-Lacamen Road in Tublay, Benguet which is part of a bigger Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay (BLISTT) Road Project is now on-going.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that proposed 8.31-kilometer Labey-Lacamen Road also known as Tublay Section or Section 4A of BLISTT has received an allocation of ‭P676.65 Million in 2020 for the continuation of road concreting, slope protection, and road right-of-way acquisition.‬
