VILLAR: Slaughter House-Bypass Road in Davao now open

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar and Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio inaugurated the Slaughter House-Bypass Road project in Davao City earlier this day.

The PhP 469-Million project covered the improvement and widening of the 2.690-Km old slaughter house road from JCT Davao City Diversion Road, passing along Ma-a Riverside Road until F. Torres Bridge.

Villar opens 5.8-km protected bike lane along Laguna Lake Highway

In an effort to provide a safer road for cyclists, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has opened a separate 5.58-kilometer bicycle lane facility along the stretch of Laguna Lake Highway in Taguig City.

Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar, together with Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Vice Mayor Ricardo Cruz Jr. led the inauguration of the 3-meter wide bicycle lane on Thursday, February 7, 2019, three (3) months after completing the 4-lane Laguna Lake Highway in November 2018.

‘Build Build Build’ team sets job fair at Subic Bay Freeport for displaced Hanjin workers

The “Build Build Build” team will gather around 70 employers from different contractors involved in the government’s infrastructure program, and companies within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) for a Jobs Caravan on February 9, Saturday.

To be held at the SBMA Gym in the Subic Bay Freeport, the Build Build Build = Jobs Jobs Jobs Caravan was initiated to provide employment to the displaced workers of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) Philippines.

DPWH joins Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival 2019

Employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Aklan District Engineering Office, headed by District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella (right) and Assistant District Engineering Leo P. Bionat (2nd from right), join the Kalibo Ati-atihan festival to honor Señor Sto. Niño (infant Jesus).

Personnel from regional office, other district offices, and even from central office also participated in the religious sadsad or merrymaking/dancing in the streets.

Samar 1st DEO hailed as an Eco-friendly Office

The Department of Public Works and Highways recognizes Samar First District Engineering Office as one of the Eco-friendly District Engineering Office for its compliance to the environmental programs, policies and efforts on environmental management, protection and conservation.

The certificate of recognition was awarded by Sec. Mark Villar to Assistant District Engineer Denis Cagomoc last December 17, 2018 at DPWH- Central Office in Manila.

DPWH Samar I recognizes deserving employees

The Department of Public Works and Highways - Samar First District Engineering Office recognized the outstanding employees for the exceptional work they performed in the past year.

The awarding ceremony was held during the 2018 DPWH Christmas party last December 20, 2018 at the DPWH Covered Court. The awardees were Mr. Bonifacio S. Mensorado, Mr. Emilio G. Barcoma, Mr. Edgar P. Lauron and Mr. Jeffrey A. Mañozo.

4th Quarterly PIO meeting cum workshop

Hosted by Northern Samar First and Northern Samar Second district engineering office, the 4th quarter PIO conference commences at Laoang, Northern Samar last December 13-14, 2018.

Attended by PIO designates, alternates and staffs from the thirteen district engineering offices, the conference formally started with the presentation of participants led by RPAIO Antonieta R. Lim.
