Road repair schedule in EDSA and C-5 this weekend

Two (2) sections of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) will undergo road repair and maintenance this weekend starting 11 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 until 5 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019.

Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region Director Ador G. Canlas said that road reblocking will cover portions at the southbound direction of EDSA from Lagarian Creek to before Ermin Garcia, 2nd lane, innermost lane; and at the northbound direction from corner Congressional Avenue Extension, 2nd lane from the sidewalk.

DPWH improves road connecting Bukidnon and Davao del Norte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) led by Secretary Mark A. Villar has disclosed the completion of the rehabilitation of the Valencia – San Fernando – Talaingod – Panabo – Tagum Road which is a crucial link between Bukidnon and Davao del Norte in Region 11.

Secretary Villar said that DPWH Region 10 implemented the road upgrading of the 43.5-kilometer national road traversing mountainous terrains from Brgy. Kalagangan in the Municipality of San Fernando to Brgy. Poblacion in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

DPWH completes surveys, water quality tests to start dredging activities in Manila Bay

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said dredging activities will soon begin in Manila Bay with the completion of data gathering activities of the DPWH-Bureau of Equipment.

“Our Bureau of Equipment has conducted bathymetric or depth measurement survey, water quality test, and ocular inspection at Manila Bay and Navotas River. The result of these surveys will be the basis of dredging activities in the coming weeks,” said Secretary Villar.

VILLAR: 3 farm-to-market road projects completed in Southern Leyte

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that a total of three (3) farm-to-market roads (FMRs) amounting to P15-million were successfully completed in Maasin City and Malitbog City, Southern Leyte.

Secretary Villar said completed FMR projects include the concreting of roads in Barangay Tawid and Barangay Tomoy-tomoy in Maasin City; and in Barangay San Vicente – Barangay Pancil – Barangay Aurora in Malitbog City.

The once bumpy and dusty roads were converted into two-lane roads with a total length of three (3) kilometers.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said going to the Historical Tirad Pass Shrine in Gregorio del Pilar, Ilocos Sur, is now easier through a newly-completed tourism road project of the DPWH Ilocos Sur 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO).

According to Secretary Villar, one (1) kilometer of road was constructed and improved along Cervantes-Sigay Ilocos Sur Road passing Barangay Libang, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur to provide easier access to tourists heading to Tirad Pass which is a significant place in Philippine history.
