DPWH completes P20M Farm-to-Market roads in Samar

Faster delivery of agricultural goods and services can be expected by local farmers as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completes the construction of four (4) farm-to-market roads (FMRs) in the city of Calbayog in Samar.

With a combined appropriation of P20-million, completed projects involve the concreting of a total of 1.44 kilometers of roads in Barangays of Cabunga-an and Sitio Mactang in the town of Santo Niño; San Luis and Pange in Tarangnan; Santo Niño and Macugo in Gandara; and Can-ipulan and Panaruan in Santa Margarita.

DPWH reopens Government Internship Program for college students and out-of-school youth

Forty (40) economically-disadvantaged youth will be hired by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office this summer of 2018 for its government internship program (GIP).

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said college students and out-of-school youth with minimum of second year college education aged 18 to 23 are once again encouraged to apply for a learn-and-work experience in government that will allow them to earn as much as 75 percent of the prevailing minimum wage in the National Capital Region.

DPWH undertakes repair works on 6 roads in QC and Caloocan City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will continue its repair works of damaged national highway in the cities of Quezon and Caloocan this weekend.

According to DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro, the road repair and rehabilitation will be carried out from 11 PM Friday, February 23, 2018 using one (1) day concrete mix so that the affected road lanes will be fully passable at 5 AM Monday, February 26, 2018.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 3-in-1 building that now serves as a Day Care Center, Multipurpose Hall, and Police Post in Barangay Teachers Village East, Diliman, Quezon City.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro said the project costing P4.9 million was constructed by DPWH Quezon City District Engineering Office within four (4) months only.
