VILLAR: DPWH opens 2 more lanes at Katipunan Avenue

Good news to motorists as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed its P55-million widening and flood-control project along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar on Wednesday, February 7, 2017 led the opening of the newly-completed project covering the widening of a 672-lineal meter portion of Katipunan Avenue south bound from Shuster St. to C.P. Garcia Avenue, fronting University of the Philippines – Diliman Campus.

DPWH-RO1 hails best-performing DEOs

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region I gave recognition to its best-performing District Engineering Offices (DEOs) during the 1st Regional Staff Conference held on January 24, 2018.

Pangasinan 4th DEO bested the other nine DEOs in Ilocos Region for bagging the Best District Engineering Office award with its overall average of 90.571%.

DPWH completes school building to benefit 1,400 students in Cotabato

Over 1,400 students from Pigcawayan, Cotabato will benefit from the newly completed and turned over 4-storey building project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region 12 Director Basir M. Ibrahim said the new building will fill the classroom requirement of Pigcawayan National High School which now has over 3,000 students in the Junior and Senior High School.

“This new 4-storey building can accommodate additional students from Grades 8, 9, and 10 as it has a total of 28 classrooms,” said Director Ibrahim.

DPWH Region 12 Director Basir M. Ibrahim said the new building will fill the classroom requirement of Pigcawayan National High School which now has over 3,000 students in the Junior and Senior High School.

“This new 4-storey building can accommodate additional students from Grades 8, 9, and 10 as it has a total of 28 classrooms,” said Director Ibrahim.

DPWH to complete feasibility study of Quezon-Bicol Expressway by Q3

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will undertake feasibility study (FS) of the Quezon-Bicol Expressway (QBEx) that will significantly reduce travel time between Manila and the Bicol Region.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Director Alex G. Bote said from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2018, the DPWH Planning Service - Project Preparation Division will undertake the FS to ensure timely implementation of the project that is aimed for construction from 2022 to 2026.
