Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, together with Japanese Ambassador Koji Haneda, inspected the on-going improvement project of the Pasig-Marikina River Channel.
The Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project (PMRCIP) will mitigate the frequent inundation or massive flooding caused by the overflowing of Pasig-Marikina River resulting in severe damages to lives, properties and infrastructure in Metro Manila.

Leaño, Jr., the construction of ₱229.183-million Passi By-Pass Road is implemented in two phases: Phase 1 involves the construction of 6 spans, 30-mm Pre-Stressed Concrete Type IV-B Girder Bridge on Bored Pile Foundation including approaches and slope protection amounting to ₱125.584 million.

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge and Binondo-Intramuros Bridge will start its construction by next week.
The two China Grant-Aid Bridges are financed by the People’s Republic of China through a bilateral cooperation with the Republic of the Philippines.
“The implementation of these bridges is scheduled to begin next week and will be accessible to the public by 2020,” Villar said.

Four (4) road sections along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and four (4) other roads in Metro Manila will be repaired effective 11 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018.
