DPWH opens additional 700 meters along Laguna Lake Highway

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar together with Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade, Bases Conversion and Development Authority Bases Conversion President Vivencio B. Dizon, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Vice Mayor Ricardo Cruz led the opening of an additional 700 meters 2-lane concrete pavement along Laguna Lake Highway (formerly C-6 dike road).

This new road section from Napindan to M.L. Quezon, Taguig City will bring to a total of 6.7 kilometers (kms) concrete roadway serviceable to the public.

DPWH recognizes service of employees on its 120th Anniversary

Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar on Friday, June 22, 2018 led the awarding of certificate of appreciation and recognition of retirees as well as employees of DPWH who are in their 40th year of service this year, recognizing their effort and contribution in achieving the goals of the Department in nation-building. This activity is part of the week-long celebration of the 120th Anniversary of DPWH which started last Monday, June 18, 2018 and will end with a fun run on Saturday, June 23, 2018.

Multi-million access road to Zamboanga City’s Nancy Falls underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now working on the last three phases of the road upgrading project leading to Nancy Falls in Zamboanga City.

According to Region IX Director Jorge U. Sebastian Jr., the project involves the paving of a total of 17.3 kilometers of Junction National Highway – Ayala La Paz Road in Brgy. La Paz, with a total budget allocation of P650-million under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) of the DPWH in convergence with the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Cadac-an Bridge along Abuyog-Silago Road in Barangay Cadac-an, Abuyog, Leyte was closed to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 for repair works.

Department of Public Works and Highways Leyte Fifth District Engineering Office District Engineer Eusebio T. Culas advised motorists from Tacloban to Silago to take Tacloban-Baybay Road to Bato to Silago and those coming from Ormoc to Silago to take Ormoc-Baybay Road to Bato to Silago as an alternative route until repair of the bridge is complete.

Construction of evacuation centers in Western Visayas nears completion

Nine (9) regional evacuation centers located in the six provinces of Western Visayas are underway and will soon be accommodating the public in times of calamities and disasters.

The said centers, with the total contract amount of ₱310.301 Million and implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI, are constructed in San Jose in Antique, Kalibo in Aklan, Roxas City in Capiz, Nueva Valencia in Guimaras, Carles and Zarraga in Iloilo and Bago City, San Carlos City and Sagay City in Negros Occidental.

Drainage structure constructed along Bacolod City major road

A poclain machine excavates along Lacson Street in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental as part of the construction works for a drainage system implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The drainage system stretches from Mandalagan Bridge to 6th Lacson Street in the amount of ₱35 Million, and from 6th Lacson Street to Rizal Street in the amount of ₱27 Million.
