Villar: President Quirino Ramp of Skyway to Open by Q2 of 2018

The present Metro Manila Skyway system from South Luzon Expressway will be accessible up to President Quirino Avenue in Manila by second quarter of 2018.

This was announced by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar during his inspection of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 Project along with Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade.

DPWH Bicol all set for ASEAN conference

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office V readied roads in Bicol region in preparation for the 2017 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit.

In a meeting with District Engineers and other key officials in the Regional Office, Director Danilo E. Versola ordered the checking and cleaning of roads, especially along Legazpi City Airport leading to Misibis Bay Resort in Albay as the province was picked as one of the venues for the series of conferences that will be held in the country.

River control projects constructed in northern Iloilo

ILOILO City – Brgy. Natividad in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo and its neighboring communities were once flood-prone area wherein agricultural products as well as properties of the locales were at stake when heavy rains occur, also putting their lives in danger.

Hence, with the construction of a revetment walls along Barotac Viejo River, residents in the barangays along the river are now at ease even during this rainy season.

DPWH and CCC announce the construction of Philippine’s Climate Change Resilience Center

The Department of Public Works and Highways, represented by Secretary Mark A. Villar, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Climate Change Commission, an attached agency to the Office of the President, represented by Executive Director Emmanuel S. de Guzman, for the construction of the Philippine Climate Change Resilience Center. Witnesses to the ceremonial signing for the construction of the P50 million project that will double as the country’s repository of data relative to issues of Climate Change and Resiliency and as a training center were DPWH Undersecretary Karen Olivia V.

Villar: DPWH Quezon Avenue Flood Control Project now Open

Movement of vehicles along Quezon Avenue - east bound will significantly improve with the opening of two (2) additional vehicular lanes on top of a completed flood control structure.

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar formally opens on Monday, August 7, 2017 the 820.62 lineal meters additional service road over the newly constructed reinforced concrete box culvert from Timog Avenue to Scout Albano in Quezon City.

DPWH declares Guiuan-Sulangan Peninsula Road a National Road

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has declared the Guiuan-Sulangan Peninsula Road in Eastern Samar a national road.

The newly declared national road is now under the jurisdiction of the DPWH Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (ESDEO) pursuant to the Department Order No. 83 signed by Secretary Mark A. Villar on July 06, 2017.

The 19.2-kilometer road is part of the partnership project of DPWH and Department of Tourism (DOT) under the “Converging Program of Enhancing Tourism Access.”

Villar: DPWH Opens Additional 2 Lanes along Commonwealth Avenue

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) opens on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 two (2) additional lanes on the southbound direction of Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the southbound segment at Commonwealth from Zuzuarregui Street to Vila Beatriz Street has been widened from five (5) lanes to seven (7) lanes.

Villar: Governor Miranda Bridge in Davao del Norte now open

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that the newly-widened Governor Miranda Bridge II is now formally open to vehicular traffic.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the inauguration of the Miranda Bridge II which connects the Municipality of Carmen and the City of Tagum in Davao del Norte.

“The opening of the Governor Miranda Bridge is only the start of the Duterte administration’s Build Build Build program. We are committed to building more bridges throughout the country,” Villar said.

DPWH to Complete Concreting of Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road this Year

Motorists will soon have another option avoiding a congested Daang Maharlika in Bulacan, with the new 9.62-kilometer Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road that is now being paved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region 3 Director Antonio V. Molano Jr. said the remaining embankment and concreting activities under Phase II of the diversion road project is almost complete with 83 percent of works accomplished.

Works in Progress at Sariaya Bypass Road

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to complete the first segment of the 7.4-kilometer Sariaya Bypass Road Project that aims to divert traffic along the busy Manila South Road in the province of Quezon.

“With the current pace of implementation, we can possibly finish in the next few months the segment from Junction Manila South Road Daang Maharlika to Morong Bridge costing P181 Million,” said DPWH Region 4-A Director Samson L. Hebra.
