DPWH Receives Post Award Requirements for NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project

Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC) has formally submitted to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) the post award requirements for the North Luzon Expressway – South Luzon Expressway (NLEX-SLEX) Connector Road Project.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar received from Metro Pacific Investment Corporation Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan the required documents for the effectivity of the issued DPWH Notice of Award to design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the elevated toll highway that would connect North and South Luzon Expressways.

DPWH Highlights Researches for Quality, Safe and Efficient Infrastructure

Engineers, researchers and scholars from different government offices, universities, organizations and private sectors gathered together for the 2016 Research Symposium of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), thru the initiative of its Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS).

Eighteen (18) research studies were presented at the symposium with the theme “Providing infrastructure that improves quality, traffic and road safety” which was held at the GT-Toyota Asian Culture Center in the University of the Philippines, Quezon City.

DPWH Issues Advisory for Kennon and Urdaneta Junction-Dagupan Road Users

Kennon Road will be closed to traffic from 7:00 AM of September 27 to 7:00 PM of October 3, 2016.

Department of Public Works and Highways -Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) Director Danilo Dequito announced that Kennon Road will not be passable to vehicular traffic during this period due to the on-going bridge construction at Camp 5 particularly at KO 235+504.

Director Dequito advised motorists to take Rosario-Pugo-Baguio Road or Marcos Highway and Naguilian Road in going to and from Baguio City.

RO-6 Holds on Environmental Impact Assessment and Social Safeguard

Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office VI (DPWH RO-6) conducted a 4-day training session on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Safeguards program from September 13-16.

Attended by several employees from the Regional Office and (10) District Engineering Offices (DEO), the event commenced with the welcome remarks of OIC-Regional Director Jose Al. V. Fruto.

NAIA Expressway Phase 2A Opens to Motorists at 12:01 AM

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar meant business when he announced that the first section of NAIA Expressway Project Phase 2 will be opened to the public on the first minute of September 22.

Driving a pick-up truck, Secretary Villar led the first batch of motorists to pass by the new elevated expressway which connected Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City to NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 in Paranaque City at exactly 12:01 AM.

DPWH-2 Welcomes Home New Director; Bueno Bids Goodbye

Engr. Melanio C. Briosos, the newly assigned DPWH - II Regional Director, formally reported to his new function after a simple turn-over ceremony held on September 16, 2016 at the DPWH Region II Conference Hall.

Director Briosos switched places with Director Nerie D. Bueno as the latter transferred to DPWH Region I in San Fernando City, La union.

In his message, Assistant Regional Director Alexander D. Nola thanked Engr. Bueno whom he described as the leader who steered DPWH Region II to greater heights with its notable accomplishments.
