DPWH Completes New Legislative Building in Guimaras

Members of the local legislative body the Municipality of San Lorenzo in Guimaras province are now housed in a more conducive office, with the completion of its new building.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Guimaras District Engineering Office has completed the construction of a new Legislative building, which is one of the 9 projects implemented by the District under one cluster contract project, with the total amount of P11.0 Million.

DPWH to Install Pedestrian Overpass Along Portion of MNR in La Union

The Department of Public Works and Highways La Union First District Engineering Office (DPWH-La Union First DEO) announced the temporary closure at KM0267+830 of Manila North Road (MNR) in Catbangen, San Fernando City, La Union on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11:30 p.m. for the construction of a pedestrian overpass in front of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU).

Construction activities will end at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

VILLAR: Maysilo Drainage Project completed on September 30 Deadline

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar made true to his promise to complete the Mandaluyong Main Drainage Project (Maysilo) on or before September 30.

“We gave an ultimatum to the contractor – finish this on September 30 or swim in Pasig River. Glad to report – the project is now completed. No one is swimming at least today,” Villar said.

NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Post-Award Requirements

Pangilinan the post-award requirements for the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project seven (7) days after DPWH issued the Notice of Award to proponent Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC) to build an eight (8) kilometers elevated toll highway that would connect North and South Luzon Expressways. DPWH Receives Post Award Requirements for NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project

Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC) has formally submitted to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) the post award requirements for the North Luzon Expressway – South Luzon Expressway (NLEX-SLEX) Connector Road Project.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar received from Metro Pacific Investment Corporation Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan the required documents for the effectivity of the issued DPWH Notice of Award to design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the elevated toll highway that would connect North and South Luzon Expressways.

DPWH Programs on Youth Highlighted in RYAC Meeting

Two programs on youth were showcased in the recent hosting of the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Regional Youth Advisory Council (RYAC) by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI held last September 15, 2016.

The hiring of young engineers possibly aged 30 and below through the creation of the 1,394 Engineer II permanent positions and the conduct of the Cadet Engineer Program (CEP) were among those discussed by Ray Adrian C. Macalalag, Engineer II of the Planning and Design Division and Youth Focal Person of this Office.
