DPWH Project to Alleviate Flooding in Southern Pampanga

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) targets to reduce the damage brought by perennial flooding in southern Pampanga through the implementation of the Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (IDRR-CCA) Measures in Low Lying Areas of Pampanga Bay Project.

A total of eight (8) deteriorated Sluice Gates are set to be repaired and replaced near the right bank of the Pampanga River to regulate the stream of water and prevent the backflow of the rivers.

DPWH Completes Road to Decongest Traffic in Zamboanga Sibugay

The 6.6 kilometer diversion road that will help ease traffic in the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay and congested cities of Zamboanga Peninsula is now serviceable.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 9 Director Jorge U. Sebastian Jr reported that the Ipil Diversion Road Phase 1 which runs from Junction National Highway of Barangays Pangi, Guituan, Taway, Suclema, and Tiayon, in the municipality of Ipil, is now open to vehicular traffic, following the completion of construction activities.

DPWH Flood Mitigation Projects in Capiz Completed

Residents near the rivers in Pontevedra and Pan-ay in the province of Capiz are now less worried of water overflow during rainy season with the completion of two significant river controls in the said towns.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Capiz First District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed the construction of Pontevedra River Control in Pontevedra town (upstream of Agbalo Bridge and Tico River Control (downstream) in Pan-ay town.

DPWH to Repair 2 Roads in QC This Weekend

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and repair on two roads in Quezon City on October 15, Saturday.

DPWH identified two national roads as the southbound of Mindanao Avenue, before Mindanao Tunnel and the eastbound of Batasan Road, in Litex – Batasan Gate.

One (1) day curing concrete will be used for the repair hence roads will be reopened on Sunday, October 16.

Motorists are advised to take Balintawak/Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Commonwealth Avenue respectively.

DPWH Contractors' Profile Now Online

Registered civil works contractors interested in participating in public bidding in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) can view, download, and print their profile and records reflected in the DPWH civil works registry (CWR), now available online in the DPWH website.

The DPWH came up with this process improvement that will provide ease to contractors who normally call or travel to the Department’s office in Port Area, Manila just to acquire copies of Contractor Information from the CWR during DPWH bidding.

Landslide at Uguiaban Bypass Road

Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office X advises the public that Uguiaban Bypass Road, in Cagayan de Oro is temporarily closed to traffic following the occurrence of landslide Friday, October 14, 2016.

Motorists traversing the said route are advised to take the main road via Talakag-Lumbia while clearing operation is being conducted by DPWH Maintenance crew.

DPWH Enhances Road Markings in Southern Leyte

Department of Public Work and Highways – Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (DPWH-SLDEO) acquired three new machines to enhance road markings and extend the service life of roads within the district.

Kneading machine, thermoplastic applicator and paint removing machine were procured machines with a total amount of P2 Million to be used by engineers to paint road markings such as center line, edge line and pedestrian lane. These markings are designed to guide motorist during poor road visibility.
