DPWH Opens Door to 3rd Batch of DPWH Cadet Engineers

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson is calling on intelligent and patriotic civil engineers across the country to help develop public works in the country as it formally accepts applicants for the Cadet Engineering Program (CEP) Batch III.

“We are opening our doors to talented civil engineers, ages 21-25, to be part of our Cadet Engineering Program (CEP),” announced Singson.

World-Class Iloilo Convention Center Opens

President Benigno S. Aquino III inaugurated the state-of-the-art Iloilo Convention Center at the Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao District last September 14, 2015.

The construction of the Iloilo Convention Center was made a reality thru the effort of the Ilonggo Senator, Senate President Franklin M. Drilon, who envisioned Iloilo to be one of the competitive cities in the country, in terms of economy and infrastructure development.

DPWH CEP Batch II Completes 6-Month Training

Forty-one young civil engineers under second batch of Cadet Engineering Program (CEP) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) pose with Secretary Rogelio L. First 31 Young Engineers Hired By DPWH Bicol, 78 More Upcoming

Thirty one (31) new Engineer II positions from the 109 allocations for DPWH Bicol Region was filled recently following the approval of evaluation of candidates by the Central Selection Board (DPWH-CSB) duly concurred by Secretary Rogelio L. Singson.

Being the first batch to be approved from the 1,396 positions created nationwide, DPWH Region V through the initiative of Regional Director Melvin V. Navarro, welcomed on September 11, 2015 the new DPWH employees through a Eucharistic Celebration followed by a short program where they took their Oath of Office.

DPWH to Suspend Contractors Negligent of Safety Requirements

The government will impose suspension of work to contractors who fail to observe safety requirements with no entitlement of time extension and payment on corresponding items and related works.

Secretary Rogelio L. Singson through Department Order 135 directed all DPWH field offices to strictly implement the requirements on road works safety, traffic management, and construction safety and health during the project construction and maintenance works.

Community Managed Road Maintenance Launched

Road projects not only improve people’s lives with increased mobility and connectivity but also provide employment opportunities to local residents.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Road Board recently launched the pilot implementation of Community Managed Road Maintenance Project (CMRMP) providing jobs for about 477 Programang Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino family- beneficiaries in Paranas, Western Samar.

Community-Managed Road Maintenance

Develop sense of responsibility in nation building and employment opportunities to about 477 families in Paranas, Samar are provided by the government through the Community Managed Road Maintenance Project (CMRMP), a partnership program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Road Board. 96 Flood Control Projects Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed 96 structural and non-structural flood-mitigating projects for National Capital Region (NCR), Regions 3 and 4A, amounting to P4.9 billion.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that the completed projects are part of the P5-billion Priority High-Impact Flood Control Projects for Metro Manila and its neighboring regions in the Flood Management Master Plan.
