DPWH Rehabilitates Regalado Bridge in Quezon City

The on-going rehabilitation/reconstruction/strengthening of Regalado North Bridge along Regalado North Avenue, Quezon City has an allocation of ₱27,708,000.00 and is being implemented by DPWH-NCR Quezon City I District Engineering Office (QCFDEO).

This bridge has manifested signs of wear and tear, thus its rehabilitation/reconstruction/strengthening is very timely and a part of the agency’s effort to prevent or mitigate disaster. Its completion will benefit the people living and working in the northern part of Quezon City and the motorists coming from Caloocan City and Bulacan

Green Building at Barangay U.P. Campus

A 3-storey Multi-Purpose Building, also known as the “Green Building” at Brgy. UP Campus was recently completed. The so called “green building” adopted design construction and management methods that are environmentally and socially responsible, safe and healthy.

With an allocation of ₱3.5 Million, this 3-storey multi-purpose building with deck including site development was implemented by the Quezon City Second District Engineering Office (QCSDEO) of the DPWH-NCR under contract by R.A. Moya Construction Corporation.

Libas Bridge Project

District Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzalez of DPWH Leyte 4th District Engineering Office witnessed the on-going pile driving activity of the project Construction of Libas Bridge along Ormoc-Merida-Isabel-Palompon Road. The bridge is the only way to reach vise versa to Ormoc and to other neighboring towns. Replacement of a new bridge was prioritized for the safety of the travelling public. Almost 1500 average daily traffic will benefit the new bridge structure.

La Union 2nd District Engineering Office Limits Bauang-Baguio City Road to Light Vehicles Only

Effective August 26, 2014, heavy vehicles bound to or from Baguio City to Ilocos Provinces are not allowed to pass Ribsuan Bridge along Bauang-Baguio City Road due to occurrence of hole in the deck slab at 40 meters from abutment “A”, cracks and spalling at adjoining deck slab, and other observed defects dangerous to passing heavy vehicles.

With Bauang-Baguio City Road limited to light vehicles only, heavy vehicles are advised to take Marcos Highway now called Aspiras Highway in Agoo, La Union or Kennon Road along Rosario, La Union.

Next Phase of Magallanes Repair to Start ASAP - DPWH

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) hopes to hasten the next stages of repair of the 39-year-old Magallanes Interchange, following the completion of the first phase of reconstruction on its 301-lineal meters (lm) Manila-Alabang southbound lane.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said the construction for the succeeding phases needs to start as soon as possible to be able to complete the repair of the interchange on schedule.

New Uguiaban Bridge Now Open to Traffic

The newly constructed Uguiaban Bridge which connects Barangay Dansolihon in Cagayan de Oro City and Barangay San Isidro in Talakag town in Bukidnon was re-open to vehicular traffic on August 9, 2014.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 10 Director Evelyn T. Barroso reported that the two (2)-lane, 7.3 – meter width and 60 lineal meter long bridge replaces the old bridge which was damaged by the onslaught of typhoon “Pablo” in December 4, 2012.
