Groundbreaking of Barotac Viejo Flood Control Project

Construction of Barotac Viejo Flood Control Project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Province of Iloilo has formally started with Senator Franklin M. Drilon, Governor Arthur D. Defensor, Sr., Iloilo Fifth District Congressman Niel C. Tupas, Jr., DPWH Region 6 Assistant Director Lea N. Delfinado and DPWH Iloilo 3rd District Engineer George O. Suy leading the ground breaking ceremony.

DPWH Cleared by MMDA to Proceed With Road Repair

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has secured clearance from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to undertake reblocking and road repair at EDSA and other national roads in Metro Manila this weekend.

Repair/rehabilitation works will start on October 3, Friday at 10 PM and will be passable to traffic by 5AM on October 6, which was earlier declared a regular holiday in observance of Eid-al-Adha.

Widened Iloilo Bridge Opens to Traffic

The Iloilo Bridge in Iloilo City which was widened by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has re-opened to vehicular traffic.

Senate President and Ilonggo Senator Franklin M. Drilon led the opening of the phase II of the Construction/Widening of Iloilo Bridge along Sen. Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. Avenue, which is also known as the Jaro-Iloilo Diversion Road last October 1, 2014.

DPWH Completes New Lagarian Bridge 3 in Quezon City

Construction of Lagarian Bridge III, linking Scout Tobias St., Brgy. Obrero & Doña Hemady St., Brgy. Kristong Hari, Quezon City, “ has finally been completed last September 26, 2014.

The project which involves 3 phases with a total project cost of P79 Million was conceptualized based on the QCSED’s desire to provide alternate route to and from different roads within the 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts of Quezon City, thus, alleviate traffic congestion in major roads such as Quezon Avenue.

DPWH-2 Welcomes First Ever Lady Director

Engr. Nerie D. Bueno, the newly designated Officer-In-Charge Director of DPWH Region II formally assumed her new assignment after a simple turn-over ceremony held on September 18, 2014 at the DPWH Regional Conference Hall.

Director Bueno succeeded Director Melvin B. Navarro who was reassigned at DPWH Region V in Legaspi City, Albay.

Regional employees and officials warmly welcomed the Engr. Bueno, first ever lady Regional Director upon arrival in the regional office where a simple program that includes a thanksgiving mass was held.

DPWH Improves Palico - Balayan - Batangas City Road

Four (4) projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways Batangas I District Engineering Office (Batangas I DEO) for the year 2014 were for Network Development – Widening of National Roads in various sections of Palico-Balayan-Batangas City Road in Western Batangas.

With a total of length of 2.07 kilometers, the road widening included sections in Mahayahay, Palanas, Bukal-Tubigan in Lemery, Batangas and Rizal in Tuy, Batangas.
