President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inaugurated on Thursday, July 29, 2021 the Estrella - Pantaleon Bridge, a modern bridge that will connect the cities of Mandaluyong and Makati within five (5) minutes.

The President was joined by Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar, Senator Christopher Lawrence Bong Go, and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in the symbolic unveiling of bridge marker at Rockwell, Makati City.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has installed reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings, road signages, and bike lane separators along key roads in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao to ease accessibility for cyclists.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that more than ‘new normal’ mode of transport, the use of bicycle instill health consciousness and protect the environment.

Secretary Villar said that despite the challenges, DPWH delivered its commitment for the July opening of the modern Estrella Pantaleon Bridge.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 led the inauguration ceremony of the newly-completed Mandaluyong City Jail in Barangay Plainview.

“We are glad to turn-over this correctional facility that can accommodate up to 5,000 inmates, helping them have better living conditions especially during pandemic wherein social distancing is of utmost importance,” said Secretary Villar.
