No Closure, No Obstructions Along Daang Maharlika

The Long Term Performance-Based Maintenance (LTPBM) of the Department of Public Works and High¬ways (DPWH) is aiming for ‘optimized’ road usability along Daang Maharlika (Surigao-Agusan Section).

An ‘optimized’ road use would mean that even during disaster, no road closure will happen along the way, and no obstructions such as abandoned vehicles, illegally installed signage or encroachments would be pictured within the right-of-way limits.

DPWH Resumes Road Reblocking in QC

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake road reblocking and repair on a portion of Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City starting 10 p.m. of Friday, June 10, 2016.

Road reblocking and repair works will be done at about 36.5 lineal meter section of second lane from center island along southbound direction of Mindanao Avenue from Road 8 to Alley 14.

The affected road lane is expected to be passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016.

DPWH-2 Joins Oplan Balik Eskwela; Donates Cleaning and Painting Materials to School

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 02 continues to support the ‘Oplan Balik Eskwela’ program of Department of Education (DepEd), aiming to provide safe and convenient learning environment for students in the region.

Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno instructed officials and staff to join students, teachers and parents in the cleaning and repainting of the Carig Elementary School classrooms and surroundings.

DPWH-6 Embraces "Adopt-a-School" Program

The District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region 6 embraced the “Adopt-a-School 2016” program of the Department of Education (DepEd) by stepping up efforts to prepare classrooms, school grounds, and roads for the incoming academic year.

In coordination with DepEd, a total of twelve (12) schools were identified by the DPWH to benefit the said program. Capiz 1st DEO and Iloilo 1st DEO identified two (2) schools to be adopted while the rest of the eight (8) DEOs have one (1) school each.

More School Buildings This School Year for SOCCSKSARGEN

A total of 348 school buildings under Department of Education’s Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) are now ready for the opening of classes in June, according to a report from DPWH Regional Office XII - Director Reynaldo S. Tamayo during the Project Status Implementation Meeting last May 16, 2016.

Under BEFF, 631 school building projects comprising of 2,510 classrooms with an aggregate cost of P 3,169,109.90 are programmed under the eight District Engineering Offices of DPWH XII.

Brigada Skwela 2016: “Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos, at Handa Mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School.”

The Department of Public Works and Highways supported the Brigada Skwela Campaign of the Department of Education through a community extension done last June 3, 2016 at the Cagayan de Oro National High School, Nazareth this city.

The DPWH team headed by Regional Director Evelyn T. Barroso, Assistant Regional Director Efren A. Berba, the Division Chiefs and the rest of the staff and personnel enthusiastically painted the landscapes of the school grounds making it look more vibrant with the creative mix of colors.
