DPWH Region 11 vows to maintain momentum of huge infra in 2022

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 11 sees more project completion in 2022 as compared to previous years, as the entire Davao Region embraces a more relaxed COVID-19 approach.

In his report to Secretary Roger G. Mercado, DPWH Region XI Director Rey Peter B. Gille reported that of the 1,507 projects in the region for 2021, 904 have already been completed, 431 are still on-going, and 172 are yet to begin construction.

New Scenic Road Links 2 Municipalities in Cagayan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the completion of the 2.8-kilometer road concreting project to connect the towns of Baggao and Peñablanca, in Cagayan Province.

In his report to Secretary Roger G. Mercado, DPWH Regional Office 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan said that the completed 2-lane road now links Barangay San Jose in Baggao and Barangay Quibal in Peñablanca side.

“This P91-million newly-concreted San Jose-Quibal Road facilitates better, faster, and safer connectivity between the two (2) towns,” added Director Malaluan.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) opened on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 the 680-meter Binondo-Intramuros Bridge Project crossing Pasig River in the City of Manila.

No less than President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the inauguration ceremonies for the iconic bridge project, together with DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado.

“The opening of Binondo-Intramuros Bridge is another testament of President Duterte’s political will to deliver in his term vital projects that will traffic ease congestion within Metro Manila,” said Secretary Mercado.

Sadain conducted final inspection on Monday (April 4, 2022), of the modern state-of-the-art Binondo-Intramuros Bridge Project, a day before the upcoming inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

The bridge connecting two (2) busy districts of Binondo and Intramuros in the City of Manila is the vision turned into a reality under the “Build, Build, Build” Program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

It is all systems go for the ceremonial inauguration of the Binondo - Intramuros Bridge Project, a much anticipated new bridge over Pasig River with attractive arch design that will become a new iconic landscape in Manila.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary and Build Build Build Chief Implementer Emil K. Sadain confirmed during Sunday night inspection, April 3, 2022, that the beautifully designed bridge is ready for the upcoming inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
