Major Bridge Widening Projects in CARAGA Almost Complete

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon complete the widening of (2) vital bridges along Daang Maharlika Surigao – Agusan Section, namely Bangonay Bridge in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte and Magtiaco Bridge in Alegria, Surigao Del Norte.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 13 Director Pol M. Delos Santos said that widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes through the construction of parallel bridges will ensure more volume of vehicles to accommodate this section of Daang Maharlika.

DPWH Completes Flood Control Project in Sampaloc, Manila

The Department of Public Works and Highways recently completed the rehabilitation of drainage structure along E. Quintos Street in Sampaloc, Manila.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas said that the completed project covers the construction of 803 lineal meters of reinforced concrete box culverts on different segments along E. Quintos Street, stretching from S.H. Loyola Street to Gerardo Tuazon Street.

The construction of a new Sub-Central Office (SCO) building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to house the Office of the President-Presidential Management Staff (OP-PMS) Integrated Operations and Service Continuity System (IOSCS) in Western Visayas is now nearing completion.

DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the Department is fast-tracking the construction of the building which will serve as a venue for discussion of important programs, projects, and policies of the Office of the President.

Slope Protection Works Completed Along Landslide Prone Area in La Union

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a 154-meter slope protection structure along San Fernando-Bagulin Road in Barangay Bacsil, San Fernando City, La Union.

DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan commended DPWH La Union District Engineering Office for the swift construction of the project which was completed within four months.

According to Director Tan, the project utilizes eco-friendly high-tensile wire mesh that keeps rock masses in place and maintains the stability of the slopes without harming the environment.
