Flood Control Project Completed in Zamboanga Sibugay

Residents of the low-lying Barangay of Pilar, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay are now less susceptible to flooding with the newly-constructed flood mitigation structure of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia said that the new revetment structure along Imelda-Bayog-Kumalarang-Lapuyan-Margosatubig Road will benefit approximately 1,195 residents of Barangay Pilar especially during onslaught of flood waters caused by rapid and excessive rainfall.

New 6-Storey PAGASA Building to Rise Soon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) are working together to provide a safe and modern office space for PAG-ASA inside the Science Garden Complex, Diliman, Quezon City.

Citing a report from DPWH Unified Project Management Office - Buildings Management Cluster, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the ongoing six-storey building project with a gross floor area of 8,608 square meters is now 38 percent accomplished.

DPWH Completes 3.4-KM of Farm-to-Market Roads in Bataan

Agricultural communities have been benefitting from the 3.42-kilometers of farm-to-market roads that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently constructed in the municipalities of Abucay and Dinalupihan in Bataan.

Citing reports from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan identified the newly-paved FMRs as the Barangay Salian Road and Barangay San Simon Road in Abucay and Dinalupihan, respectively.

DPWH Upgrades Road Maintenance Equipment

In a bid to boost performance and efficiency of roadside workers, the Department of Public Works and Highways acquired ₱32 million worth of new maintenance equipment to be utilized in Metro Manila roads.

During the turn over ceremony, DPWH National Capital Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas led the distribution of the newly procured equipment to the nine (9) district engineering offices in Metro Manila.

The procurement includes 10 units each of air compressor with jackhammer, paint spray gun with air compressor, and heavy-duty steel cart for storage.
