DPWH completes 261 classrooms to support K-12

The start of the year looks bright for the thousands of students, parents, school facilitators in Region 2.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Director Melanio C. Briosos reported the completion of 104 school buildings that will accommodate the needs of the K to 12 program of the Department of Education within the region.

“In response to the region’s growing student population, DPWH Region 02, in cooperation with Department of Education, completed the construction of 261 classrooms regionwide in the amount of P1.240 Billion,” Briosos stated.

Road repair in EDSA and C-5 this weekend

Sections of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) will undergo road repair and maintenance this weekend starting 11 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas said that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has approved request for clearance to undertake road reblocking at the southbound direction of EDSA of about 990 lineal meters from Ermin Garcia to Monte de Piedad, 3rd lane from sidewalk.

DPWH breaks ground on construction of school buildings in Capiz

Better learning facilities await students and teachers in the towns of Dumalag and Cuartero, Province of Capiz with the construction of school building projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 6 Director Wenceslao Leano said that a ground breaking ceremony was held for the construction of P45-million school buildings at Dumalag Central School that will house 13 classrooms, a computer room, a faculty room, and a spare room.

DPWH commences construction of road for isolated barangays in Samar

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started a 7.67-km PAMANA road project in Las Navas, Samar connecting nine (9) isolated barangays namely: Bugay, Guiguinta, Bugtusan, Mabini, Taylor, Victory, El Empon, Poponton, and Cuenco.

According to Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar, the P180.42-million road project under the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) program of the government is expected to further develop these far-flung barangays thus promoting peace and order in these remote areas in Samar.
