2.5-km flood control structure completed in Camarines Sur

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the completion of a multi-million flood control structure that will help in mitigating flooding in the municipality of Nabua in Camarines Sur.

Secretary Villar said that with a budget cost of 130-million, the 2.54-kilometer river walls were completed along critical sections of Waras River in the municipalities of Sta. Elena and Sta. Lucia which are frequented by overflowing of river especially in the occurence of typhoons and heavy rains.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed a new multi-purpose amphibious dredger (MPAD) to declog Rio Grande de Mindanao from the rapid proliferation of water hyacinths that impede the flow of water causing flooding in Cotabato City and nearby areas.

Secretary Mark A. Villar cited from a report that DPWH Region 12 led by Regional Director Basir M. Ibrahim is now clearing the obstruction that damaged the river walls and bridges along the waterway.

VILLAR: CLLEX CONTRACT PACKAGE 1 IN TARLAC TO OPEN SOON

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the construction of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Phase 1, Contract Package 1, beginning at the connection of Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Balincanaway, Tarlac is nearing completion.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said during the project inspection on Friday, May 24, 2019 that the Contract Package 1 with budget amounting to P1.603 Billion is now 97% completed.

New justice hall in San Juan City to rise soon

Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the City of San Juan will soon have more court rooms with the on-going construction of the four (4) storey Hall of Justice Building Project.

Citing a report from DPWH Metro Manila First District Engineer Medel F. Chua, Secretary Villar said that the P100-million Justice Hall along Pinaglabanan Road in Barangay Corazon de Jesus is now 75 percent complete.

“We’re building eight (8) new court rooms to answer the lack of court rooms handling litigation cases in San Juan City,” said Secretary Villar.
