VILLAR: DPWH Ready for Mega Infrastructure Projects in Cebu

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said the agency is ready to implement several strategic major infrastructure projects in Cebu as part of President Duterte’s mandate to decongest major thoroughfares and implement an integrated seamless transport system.

“Among the big ticket projects to be implemented include the highly anticipated 74 kilometers Metro Cebu Expressway Project, which will reduce travel from Naga City to Danao City from three (3) hours to one (1) hour and 25 minutes,” Villar said.

VILLAR: NAIA Expressway Now Fully Open

Few minutes before Thursday (June 1, 2017) midnight, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced the full opening of the NAIA Expressway, which will connect NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3 to Cavitex, Skyway, and Entertainment City.

“A total of 17 off and on ramps have been constructed along strategic locations at Villamor Airbase, Resorts World, NAIA Terminal 3, MIAA Road, Imelda Avenue, Cavitex, Seaside Drive and Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard,” Villar said.

DPWH Resumes Pipe Installation at Bonifacio Drive this Weekend

The four (4) southbound lanes of Bonifacio Drive will once again be closed to traffic, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) resumes 24/7 works for a flood control project aimed to minimize flooding around the vicinity of Manila City Hall.

According to DPWH-NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro, the segment from sidewalk of Bonifacio Drive corner P. Burgos Street will be closed effective Saturday, May 27, 2017 for the installation of 2-rows, 27-lineal meter long, 60 inches diameter reinforced concrete pipe culvert.

Replacement of Damaged Isabela Bridge Finally Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing a new bridge to replace a typhoon-ravaged bridge in Isabela that has long been closed to traffic.

DPWH Region 2 Director Melanio C. Briosos said that works have started for the construction of 450-meter Pigalo Bridge located along Alicia-Angadanan-San Guillermo Road crossing Cagayan River in Barangay Pigalo, Angadanan, Isabela that was damaged by typhoons Pedring and Quiel in 2011.
