DPWH Installs Traffic Lights in Kalibo

The Department of Public Works and Highways, Aklan District Engineering Office (DEO) announced, in a report by District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella, the installation of traffic lights along Mabini Street, corner Roxas Avenue in Kalibo, Aklan.

With contract cost of approximately P9.58 Million, the Street is funded under the FY 2016 DPWH Regular Infrastructure Program of the District.

Cavite Sub-DEO Completes Its First Flood control Project for CY 2016

The Cavite Sub-District Engineering Office, a newly created DEO, reported its first completed project for CY 2016, amounting to P18.4M. The said project is the construction of flood control structure (revetment) located at west side of Soro-Soro River in Barangay Maduya, Carmona, Cavite. The project was completed on time under R.A. Pahati Construction.

DPWH-6 Hosts PICE Regional Elimination Quiz

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 6 recently hosted the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Regional Elimination Quiz for the 35th National Civil Engineering Student Quiz (NCESQ).

Civil Engineering students from nine (9) schools in Panay Island competed namely University of Antique, St. Anthony’s College, Capiz State University, Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion, Garcia College of Technology, Western Institute of Technology, Central Philippine University, University of San Agustin and University of Iloilo

Villar: NAIA Expressway Phase 2A to Open September 22

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced the opening of the first section of phase 2 of the NAIA Expressway project this September 22.

The new elevated expressway will connect Macapagal Avenue and Pagcor Entertainment City in Pasay City to NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 in Parañaque City.

“This project would effectively improve traffic flow in the area and will cut travel time by at least 60%,” Villar said.

Leyte 4th DEO to Implement ₱1.8B Infra Projects for 2017

THE Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) will implement ₱1.8 Billion worth of infrastructure projects for CY 2017, consisting mostly of off-carriageway improvements, flood control and drainage systems, barangay infrastructure and school buildings. This is based on the initial list furnished by the DPWH Central Office, Planning Service which consolidates the National Expenditure Program (NEP) of DPWH.

DPWH Completes Urban Drainage System Project in Butuan City

An urban drainage system project costing P96.5 Million in Butuan City that is part of Agusan River Basin Flood Control Project has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region 13 Director Danilo E. Versola reported the completion of the urban drainage system project which involves 2.77 kilometers channel excavation, provision of slope protection with 2.05 kilometer maintenance road, and construction of reinforced concrete box culverts barrels.
