VILLAR: Maysilo Drainage Project completed on September 30 Deadline

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar made true to his promise to complete the Mandaluyong Main Drainage Project (Maysilo) on or before September 30.

“We gave an ultimatum to the contractor – finish this on September 30 or swim in Pasig River. Glad to report – the project is now completed. No one is swimming at least today,” Villar said.

Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC) has formally submitted to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) the post award requirements for the North Luzon Expressway – South Luzon Expressway (NLEX-SLEX) Connector Road Project.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar received from Metro Pacific Investment Corporation Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan the required documents for the effectivity of the issued DPWH Notice of Award to design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the elevated toll highway that would connect North and South Luzon Expressways.

DPWH Programs on Youth Highlighted in RYAC Meeting

Two programs on youth were showcased in the recent hosting of the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Regional Youth Advisory Council (RYAC) by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI held last September 15, 2016.

The hiring of young engineers possibly aged 30 and below through the creation of the 1,394 Engineer II permanent positions and the conduct of the Cadet Engineer Program (CEP) were among those discussed by Ray Adrian C. Macalalag, Engineer II of the Planning and Design Division and Youth Focal Person of this Office.

DPWH Highlights Researches for Quality, Safe and Efficient Infrastructure

Engineers, researchers and scholars from different government offices, universities, organizations and private sectors gathered together for the 2016 Research Symposium of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), thru the initiative of its Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS).

Eighteen (18) research studies were presented at the symposium with the theme “Providing infrastructure that improves quality, traffic and road safety” which was held at the GT-Toyota Asian Culture Center in the University of the Philippines, Quezon City.
