DPWH builds hanging footbridge for a secluded barangay in Davao Oriental

Residents of a small barangay in the municipality of Tarragona, Davao Oriental will no longer have to worry crossing the river during rainy season with a newly-completed hanging footbridge built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region 11 Director Allan S. Borromeo said that the project is a 70-lineal meter footbridge at Barangay Limot which used to be isolated when river water is at high level reaching the dilapidated old footbridge.

DPWH builds 3 dome-type multi-purpose buildings for Valenzuela City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed three (3) new dome-type multipurpose building projects in the City of Valenzuela.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro said the newly-constructed buildings at Barangay Bignay, Disiplina Village; Barangay Arkong Bato; and at Barangay Lawang Bato Phase can now serve as recreational areas for sport activity, and venues for livelihood seminars, feeding program, medical and dental missions, and other activities.

DPWH finishes road and drainage improvement project in flood-prone area of Makati City

Residents of Barangay La Paz, District 1, Makati City will no longer have to bear with high level of floodwater in their area with the newly-completed road and flood-control upgrading project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro said a bigger-capacity drainage will help mitigate flooding along the low-lying Kamagong Street and its vicinity at Barangay La Paz especially during the rainy season.

DPWH completes phase 1 of Ilocos Region’s first convention center

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the Phase 1 of the iconic convention center project for Ilocos Region.

DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said the convention center will be a 3-storey multipurpose building in a 2,000-square meter lot in San Fernando, La Union.

“This first convention center in the region will have a unique architectural and aesthetic design inspired by La Union province’s famous surfing destination,” added Director Tan.

DPWH partners with BFP to intensify “Alis Putik” Campaign along Leyte Roads

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) joined forces this week in an effort to speed up removal of obstructions, particularly muds along national roads in the province of Leyte.

Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzales of DPWH Leyte Fourth District Engineering Office said with the help of BFP, DPWH Maintenance team was able to clean the Palo-Carigara-Ormoc Road which has acquired muds due to the weather condition and the transport of sugarcane during its harvest season.

DPWH to fast track study of Maasin City Coastal Bypass Road Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now set to conduct feasibility study of the proposed 5-kilometer bypass road project that will decongest city road of Maasin, Southern Leyte.

DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineering Office chief Ma. Margarita C. Junia said P5.7 million was allocated for the study of Maasin City Coastal Bypass Road Project which is being fast tracked for implementation.
