Manila Runway on track, to open April 2017

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar announced today that the construction of a pedestrian bridge directly connecting Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 (T3) with Newport City is on track and due to open in April.

“Once completed, RunWay Manila will allow the average person to walk the distance between the airport and Newport City in approximately three minutes,” Villar said.

50-Million tourism project in Samar completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Samar First District Engineering Office (SFDEO) completed the P 50-M Access Road Project leading to Bangon Falls in Brgy. Tinaplacan, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City, Samar.

Funded under the DPWH FY 2016 Infrastructure Fund thru the DPWH – DOT Convergence Program, the project involves concreting of 1,200 linear meters road with 768.20 linear meters Reinforced Concrete Lined Canal that is intended to prevent clogging and water ponding in the area which may eventually cause early deterioration of the structure.

Site for the Rehabilitation including Drainage and Road-Right-of-Way (RROW) Acquisition Access Road Leading to Naval Port at Naval, Biliran

Pictured is an access road leading to Naval Port in Naval, Biliran. It is proposed for rehabilitation with an appropriation of P54.939 Miliion. The road is most of the time congested on the early morning and late afternoon. The proposed project on above road is Rehabilitation of Access Road leading to Naval Port. The projects covers rehabilitation of 2.78 Lane Km. roadway and construction of drainage on some section. At present, preliminary and detailed engineering activities is still on-going.

DPWH Supports Asean Kiosk

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6 represented by Regional Public Information Officer Ms. Vivian C. Tan (upper right photo) attended the opening of Information Kiosk for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 6 last March 4, 2017.

Iloilo (Leon)-Antique Boundary Road Undergoes Upgrading

Two significant infrastructure projects are currently being implemented along Bancal-Leon-Antique Boundary Road in Leon, Iloilo.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region 6 is undertaking the concreting of the existing gravel road going to Brgy. Bucari, which leads to Bucari Pineridge Mountain Resort of the “little Baguio” of Iloilo.

With the amount of P81.3 million, the project involves the road upgrading from unpaved to paved of 2.133 kilometers national road with 0.28-meter thick Portland Concrete Cement Pavement (PCCP), 6.70 meters wide.

Mega Bridge in Cagayan opens February 24

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will open tomorrow, February 24, 2017 the newly completed Lucban Bridge that serves as a replacement to an old bridge along Manila North Road (MNR) in the municipality of Abulug, Cagayan Province.

Costing P631 million, the 825-lineal meter Lucban Bridge crossing over the Cagayan River is seen to boost trade and tourism in Region 2.

DPWH reiterates warning against solicitations

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reiterates its public warning against unscrupulous individuals pretending to be or dropping the name of the top officials of the department for personal or financial interests.

The warning is in view of DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar’s recent memorandum warning officials and employees of the Department of persistent attempts of solicitation in disguise as high-ranking officials.
