Upgraded Road in Panitan, Capiz Answers Transportation Woes

The then flooded road section along Roxas City Boundary-Panitan-Bailan Road, Brgy. Agkilo in Panitan, Capiz, is currently being upgraded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI, hence, would bring travel convenience to motorists, when completed.

The said project is implemented and supervised by the Regional Office headed by Regional Director Wenceslao M. Leaño and Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto.

DPWH Alleviates Flooding in Isabela

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) remains proactive in its bid to lessen the damages brought by perennial flooding in Iligan, Isabela through the implementation of the Baculud Flood Control Project.

A flood control structure comprised of bored piles and sheet piles was constructed with reinforced rubble concrete and a cemented pavement with line canal to prevent the inflow of water and reduce the risk of flooding especially during rainy season.

P13.7M School Building Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office IX in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) turned over the newly completed 3-storey 9 classroom school building to Catalina Vda. De Jalon Memorial School in Tumaga, Zamboanga City.

The additional educational facility promises to create a conducive learning atmosphere to the 4,092 students enrolled at the elementary school by decongesting the current 1:39 student-classroom ratio.

Villar: R-10 Construction Resumes After Six Presidents

After six presidents, Department of Secretary Mark Villar announced that the road traversing the old Smokey Mountain area congested by informal settlers will soon turn into a high capacity highway helping offset the usual heavy volume of vehicles in major highways like EDSA and C5.

“Filipinos will soon have access to an improved and widened Radial Road 10 or R-10 which they may opt to use as alternate route to EDSA via Bonifacio Drive and Roxas Boulevard in travelling from north to south and vice versa,” Villar said.

DPWH X Prepares for ASEAN 2017

The City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro, is one of the choices for ASEAN Summit other than Davao City this upcoming February 2017 – the third time that PH will host the event following 1987 and 2007.

DPWH Regional Office X is now undergoing rigorous preparations for the milestone event.

Two District Engineering Offices (DEOs) – Misamis Oriental 2nd DEO and Cagayan de Oro 1st DEO were already instructed to ensure the stability, cleanliness and safety of roads for the ASEAN delegates.
