Leyte’s Marabong Bridge, temporary closed to vehicles above 5 tons

The two-span Marabong Bridge located along Burauen - La Paz Road in Barangay Moguing, Burauen, Leyte is temporarily closed to vehicles weighing over five (5) tons due to on-going major repair.

In an advisory, District Engineer Gerald A. Pacanan of DPWH Leyte Second District Engineering Office said repair works will be implemented until August 20, 2019.

In the meantime, motorists going to La Paz, Leyte may take Maharlika Highway to Mayorga-La Paz road section.

DPWH completes 4-storey school building in Navotas

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a new school building that will benefit hundreds of elementary students in Navotas City.

Based on the report of DPWH-National Capital Region Director Ador G. Canlas, the P26.67-million school building project at Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School involves the construction of a four (4) storey building with eight (8) classrooms.

LED-lighted bridges draw local tourists in North Cotabato

Two (2) LED-lighted bridge projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in North Cotabato now provide benefit not only to motorists but also attract local tourists in the area.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, District Engineer Eliseo L. Otoc of DPWH North Cotabato Second District Engineering Office said that Ugalingan Bridge in Carmen town, and Lumayong Bridge in the municipality of Kabakan were retrofitted on purpose of conforming to the Department’s seismic design specifications.
