Giving Love on Christmas

Believing that Christmas is the season of giving, Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao and Assistant Regional Director Lea N. Delfinado, with Division Chiefs and employees of DPWH-6, share their blessings by distributing gift packs to approximately 400 students of A. Montes II Elementary School in Iloilo City on December 18, 2014. The activity is in line with the “Pamaskong Handog ng DPWH 2014” Community Extension Program of the Department.

New Pedestrian Overpass and Dredger Launched in Time of Dinagyang Festival

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 6 has completed a pedestrian overpass equipped with two (2) elevators for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly.

The state-of-the-art link for pedestrians was inaugurated by Ilonggo Senator and Senate President Franklin M. Drilon and DPWH 6 Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao together with Iloilo City local executives on January 9, 2015, in time for the opening salvo of the 2015 Dinagyang Festival.

DPWH IX Pamaskong Handog 2014

The Department of Public Works and Highways IX Rank and File employees headed by the Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Loida T. Bololato distribute gifts like foodstuff, toys, new clothing and personal and oral hygiene items to the less fortunate children of the Social Development Center in Sta. Catalina. The activity is part of the Community Extension Program of the Department to celebrate a more meaningful holiday season that is replicated in all regional offices nationwide.

DPWH-Abra DEO Bags Best RROW Enhancement Program Anew

The DPWH Abra District Engineering Office (DEO) maintained in 2014 the top place for the Road-Right-of-Way Enhancement Program of Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region.

Director Edilberto P. Carabbacan said that Abra DEO bested nine (9) other DEOs of the region with its entry at the Nagbalitangan section along Abra-Cervantes Road. Apayao 2nd DEO also defended its second rank with the Muslim Section 2 along Claveria-Calanasan Road as entry while Ifugao 2nd DEO took the third place with its entry along Banaue-Hungduan Road.

Cagayan de Oro City Projects for 2015

Several infrastructure projects are lined up for implementation in the 2nd Congressional District of Cagayan de Oro City.

In his presentation of projects last January 6, 2015 at the Department of Public Works and Highways-Regional Office, Cagayan de Oro City 2nd Congressional District Representative Rufus Rodriguez has identified the Cagayan de Oro River Flood Risk Management Project (FRMP) as among the top priorities to make the city a flood-prone-free area.

Basilan Circumferential Road Project Nearing Completion

Accelerated implementation of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ road development project in the Province of Basilan has further trimmed down to three (3) kilometers the remaining concrete paving activities for the Basilan Circumferential Road Project.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that newly paved road section for Basilan Circumferential Road is now at 44 kilometers based from the latest monitoring report submitted by Project Manager Madsmo Hasim of the DPWH Saudi Fund for Development – assisted Mindanao Roads Improvement Project.

DPWH Completes Upgrading of Tarlac River Dike, Expects to Finish Bridge Widening Works Early 2015

Upgrading of the P49-M Tarlac river dike in Central Luzon is now complete.

In a report submitted to DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, DPWH District Engineer Erelina B. Santos of the Tarlac First District Engineering Office said that the upgrading/repair of the Tarlac River Dike along Ninoy Aquino Boulevard in Tarlac City has been completed while the widening of Ninoy Aquino Bridge approaches is expected for completion early next year.
