DPWH Region 9 in full support to Marawi rehab
Heading the call of the DPWH Management thru the Mindanao Cluster Regional Directors, dpwh Region 9 extended its full support to the “Task Force Bangon Marawi” by deploying its personnel and heavy equipment like dump trucks, excavators, loaders, bulldozers and rollers as early as July 2017 to aide in the rehabilitation efforts in Marawi.
DPWH Region IX brace up for 2018 infra projects
With infrastructure as one of the top priorities in the 10-point Socioeconomic Agenda of President Rodrigo R. Duterte the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Development Investment Program slated 296 projects in 2018 from 200 projects in 2017, and is expected to balloon to 631 in 2019 for a total of 2,030 projects from 2017-2022 with an allocation of Php142,435,226.90B.
Agaton’s heavy rains result to rock fall in Samar
The Calbayog – Allen Route passing through Brgy. Cagnipa, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City, Samar suffered another rock fall brought about by the continuous heavy rains of tropical depression Agaton.
The rock fall happened January 3, 2018, around 2AM, rendering the whole road unpassable to all types of vehicles. One (1) SAMELCO light post and an uninhabited house made of light materials were not spared from the falling rocks. Fortunately, there was no reported casualty.
