Motorists are advised that the Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) is set to resume repair and re-blocking activities in major roads in the cities of Quezon and Caloocan starting Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11PM.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed Maintenance Teams to ensure road safety for the forthcoming Ati-Atihan Festival in Kalibo, Aklan and Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City this January.

DPWH Region 6 Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr. instructed concerned district offices of Aklan and Iloilo to make sure that roads are in good condition and accessible to motorists and the general public.

An estimated amount of ₱322 million worth of infrastructure projects in Western Visayas were damaged due to Typhoon Agaton.

According to Engr. Oliver E. Zamora, chief of the Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI, most of the damaged infrastructure are in the provinces of Aklan, Capiz and Negros Occidental.
