DPWH to fast track study of Maasin City Coastal Bypass Road Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now set to conduct feasibility study of the proposed 5-kilometer bypass road project that will decongest city road of Maasin, Southern Leyte.

DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineering Office chief Ma. Margarita C. Junia said P5.7 million was allocated for the study of Maasin City Coastal Bypass Road Project which is being fast tracked for implementation.

DPWH rehabilitates various road sections in Iloilo City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo City District Engineering Office (ICDEO) is currently undertaking the rehabilitation/improvement of various road sections in the metro.

According to District Engineer Rodney A. Gustilo, these road sections are dilapidated and need to be rehabilitated, for a safer and more convenient travel, hence, it is expected that traffic flow would be a bit inconvenient while the work is ongoing.

DPWH, DTI to identify 2019 ROLL-IT projects

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 6 held a regional consultation and orientation on the Roads Leveraging Linkages of Industry and Trade (ROLL-IT) program at Hotel del Rio in Iloilo.

DPWH District Engineers, DTI Provincial Directors and Local Government Unit (LGU) representatives gathered per congressional district to indicate several industries and identify suitable ROLL-IT projects followed by presentation of outputs.

1,632 apprehended of Anti-Truck Overloading Law

More than 1, 600 violators of the Republic Act No. 8794 or the Anti-Truck Overloading Law were apprehended in Western Visayas for the year 2017, based on the report of the Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6.

According to Engr. Oliver Zamora, 371 violators of the said law were apprehended in Dumarao weighbridge station in Capiz, while 1,261 were apprehended by the Anti-Truck Overloading Mobile Enforcement (ATOME), which is composed of personnel from the DPWH, Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Philippine National Police (PNP).
